Thats usb, lightning is at the other end of the cable. I think the third party is still unable to copy apples technology, but belkin has paid apple for the rights
im still waiting for cheap ebay lightning cables that are >2.8ft long... Why are they so short?!

Just that if you have an old USB charger, like the one illustrated, that is just the plug with a USB slot, then the cable that comes with the device renders the Belkin product pointless. Even if you have to buy a cable, it's still $10 cheaper($19 vs $29). Just pointing it out. I just saw something on Gizmodo that Griffin is putting out products as well.

If you've got a long enough USB cable, you can also plug a USB car adapter into the glove box and wire up from there.
Something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-pla-_-NA-_-NA ![]() And you can get a 6' or 10' cable from Monoprice for less than $2.
