So, if a pump doesn't explicitly state that the gas coming out of it has ethanol, is that gas ethanol free?
More than likely if it doesn't claim to be ethanol free, it probably isn't.

Is it getting that hard to get? I see most listed at marinas and such.

Have you ever heard a Mazda before, their direct injection pumps sound like shit.

I really dont think anything is wrong with these pumps.

I also don't think getting ethanol free gas is going to do a single thing.

^^ The only thing I notice when running Shell (straight gas) instead of any other gas is that my mileage is a bit better (~0.4L/100km or ~1.5mpg). Car feels and sounds the same on all brands of gas.

Except give me back the performance and mileage I would otherwise have with no ethanol. Unless tuned for E10 or E15, it just hurts performance and mileage. With 12.5:1 compression and VVT, of course gains can be seen with tuning for ethanol all the way up to E85.

The replacement pumps do make a dramatic difference in the sound, but it appears only for a short while since it appears are of the same build quality.

Your not going to see any hurt performance from going from non ethanol to e10-15

Except for max power and fuel economy. I worked for a company that helped with the evaluation for the US government on using E10, E15, and E20. Millions of dollars and thousands of engine dyno runs on hundreds of engines yielded the same results; max engine power is reduced and fuel economy suffers. Ethanol just doesn't have the caloric content of gasoline - it just doesn't.

If you don't tune for it, its all negatives. If the tune takes advantage of the higher octane of ethanol (I don't know of a factory calibration that does), then more power can be had, especially with higher ethanol E85.

The benefits of ethanol is its not foreign oil and the final octane number is higher. I had a E85 tune on my HEMI Magnum with 11:1 CR and loved it. I ran 11.7 @ 122 in a 4300 pound car on stock tires. So I'm not saying there is no benefits, you just have to take them along with the negatives.
