Hope those internals are thick. 12:5.1 isn't exactly a friendly ratio for throwing F/I on it. Then again, it's running 4 injectors, which is a lot of fuel if you are upgrading them. A few psi will crank out some power at that compression, but it's sketchy.

This is a genuine fear of mine. I do believe this engine has tuning potential. Enormous in fact, and with that, the potential and incentive to unlock the secrets of Toyota's ECU and the D4-S system on their V6 and V8 motors.... However, theoretically it might be so easy to drop in a turbo EJ motor, most ppl just won't bother. Until some bold person steps up and makes some beastly gains while boosting this motor, swapping might just be the ticket, and that would be such a shame. |

Funky dip in torque curve hmmm...actually you may be right, AVCS is continuous so it can't be that, perhaps it is the intake manifold resonance properties. Actually I went back and looked, I think it may be that AVCS was not continuous until recently. That would explain it. The FT curve as I said, is copied from an old Toyota article. For all I'm concerned, it is a 100% match. |

seems average. I was hoping for 110 hp/l, especially with that compression ratio. compared to the Honda K20A which was over ten years ago.
Engine type K20A Cylinders/valves Watercooled IL-4 Bore and Stroke (mm) 86.0 x 86.0 Piston displacement (cc) 1998 Compression ratio 11.5 Max power (NET) kW(PS)/rpm 162(220)/8000 Max torque (NET) N.m(kg.m)/rpm 206(21.0)/7000 |

I think this motor must be held back somehow(possibly the cat(s) for emissions), I think with a good tuning solution and full NA bolt ons, one can hopefully expect 220whp

220 not at the wheels, at the flywheel I think so. 220 at the wheels is like 250 brake, which is not happening at this rev limit.

Yeah what's up with the Center of gravity? Not that it isn't bad, but, wasn't it supposed to be the lowest?
