Just got my intake, looks good and well packed! Can't wait to install it when i have time this weekend.

One down side and not the product.... UPS sucks, got hit by $100.5 cdn extra for custom, brokerage fees, etc. I must send out the mail in rebate asap.

I once ordered a $800 Cerwin Vega surround sound system and I paid 60CND for customs charges which to me is fair, but 72.86 on a $280 purchased is BS.

Installing the intake tonight, I have no bog issues or any issues with my FRS in relation to engine, I will post a video and feedback tonight!
Dude challenge that! the product is made in america, NAFTA states you should only have to pay your provincial and government sales taxes on that, being from Alberta you should only have to pay 5% GST! that would be like 15 bucks!
He cannot "challenge that". He will lose. Yes, you are correct that NAFTA states because the product is made in the USA, he does not have to pay duty on the products, however, because they shipped with UPS, he does in turn have to pay brokerage on the item.

The item was valued at $260, for items between $200.01 to $350.00, the fee is $45.60, in addition to the brokerage, UPS will also charge $4.25 for the COD to collect the funds at your door. One more fee, invoice integrity, that's $5. On top of this, he needs to pay the tax for those fees, $2.74

We're almost done. Now he still has to pay his portion of the tax, which is the price of the item 260USD, at 5%, and this also needs to be converted to CAD prior to the tax calculation. For the sake of this, let's just say he was lucky and the dollar was at par the day off.

Summary:
$45.50
+$4.25
+$5.00
+$2.74
+$13.00
= $70.24

The $2 off is likely due to the exchange rate.

Summary of the story? If you are shipping from the USA to Canada, please do Canadians a favor and ship with USPS. All of those fees listed above? He would have been charged a flat $5 fee, and tax.

TLDR; Use USPS to ship to Canada.

I talked with UPS today (because I also have a 73 dollar brokerage fee ) and was told that if the item was shipped with a certificate verifying it was made in America than it would have "not been charged the fee" and I would have only been charged the tax on the good.

needless to say, UPS still sucks, always has, but this is something that needs to get rectified because paying 75 dollars AFTER shipping for a 250 dollar part is unreasonable.

Also because the invoice states the items original non discounted price (280 something vs 252), we are getting charged more on our taxes. Awesome

Running the intake with Visconti's tune now. Put on a decent number of KMs today of hard driving, as well as some city and parking lot driving. Tried full throttle from a slow roll in 1st gear multiple times- no bogging for me.

I live in Vancouver at sea level. Moderate temperatures around here.

well thanks to AJUSA.com's excellent customer service, I'll be getting my intake tomorrow via Fedex. I shall install ASAP to report wether or not i get the "bog" that a few people are experiencing. Perhaps it's due to transmission differences? i drive an AT and i don't have any bogs under WOT so let's see what happens tomorrow. i will update with pics and my feedback on Airaid's intake

Ouch to my fellow canadians. To avoid UPS Brokerage fees you can "Self Clear" your packages, it adds an extra day or two and you have to fill out some forms and pay the taxes yourself but its worth it. You have to notify them that you are self-clearing and paying duty for your packages before they clear the border, and they will hold them till you send them the appropriate forms. Sometimes- as has happened in my case they have brokered and delivered the packages even though i had spoken to the agent at UPS- so in those cases they waved the brokerage fees and still delivered it to my door .

Now I usually just drive across the border to pickup my stuff, but it can be a pain with the line ups at the border

Also, got my intake last week, and installed it that night- ran into a bit of a snag since the hole for crank case breather thing was too small... Called them in the morning and they priority overnight shipped me a replacement intake tube, and a hand written appology, along with a shirt and a hat . Considering the cost of overnight shipping, and the new part, im pretty sure they lost money lol. But they sure did impress me with their customer service and going the extra mile to fix the problem.

Big ups to AIRAID for a quality product, made/sold by quality people.

I actually got to drive mine this morning, there was no "bog".

That little bit of change in tone was nice. Again great job done by the guys at Airaid and great customer service from AJUSA. Now my wife is worring about when I'm going to order an exhaust kit.

Self clearing is definitely the way to go. I didn't want to get into that much detail for the sake of explaining the fees above. The easiest alternative is to have the shipper use USPS as opposed to UPS. The postal service is often times cheaper as well.

Wow I wish I deleted my snorkel earlier, the airaid intake definitely sounds even better with out it.

I really wanted an exhaust without having to deal with the noise all the time. This intake filled that void perfectly. It's VERY growly when you want it to be.

Same here, make sure you get those cover screws really tight everyone. I went to Lowes and got a replacement screw and lock washers for all 4. I think the insulation foam thins out with heat and the screws loosen and vibrate out.

How much difference does the snorkel delete actually make? I'm not trying to be lazy but I do want to make sure my baby is getting the coldest air possible. I live in the desert and daily temps are still running over 100°F for afternoon highs. If it pulls even slightly cooler air, I'll leave the snorkel in place. I just want to know what I'm giving up.
