sorry... why Toyota/Subaru need to use knockoff brand, when they can get the real one for free?

They probably wouldn't. I'm just pointing out the silliness in saying "Hey those are kinda like the ones on my car!" they are kind of like a lot of wheels, stock and aftermarket.

Trying to glean what brand this is based on the wheels is like trying to glean what brand it is by the Heater Hose.

Hm... I kinda get your point, but if you look at all the concept car ran in nur for this car uses same wheels (which is Subaru/Enkei 17" wheels), so to say Subaru/Enkei 17" w prob 215/45/17 is pretty good estimation

Exclamation Europen model nearly production

I've just compared it to pics taken on Geneva autosalon and I can tell this is European production version with just a little bit of camo.
When I was in Geneva I was told by informed people, that (citation) "showed black concept is 95% production model. Only changes will be in front fascia (pedestrian safety, curbs) and mirrors (EU regulation minimal size)." (end of citation).
I see there is rear diffuser and sideskirts missing, different taillights and couple of minor things. Brakes are apparently smaller than on black, but on same place and looks like same system.

My understanding...
- Scion and Toyota versions same BODY, Sheet metal parts and all.... do you guys know HOW expensive Sheet metal tooling is?... if they have different versions then the cars would be more expensive to offset the development/manufacturing costs.... Toyota partnered with Subaru to use their chassis... to SAVE development costs and make it a realistic CHEAP sports car.

- Subaru MAY have a different body, but I doubt it... if you guys look at the Camry. It shares it Sheet metal parts with a couple of other sedans.... only the plastic parts, lamps etc are the main difference.... the Subaru/Toyota/Scion car should all have same sheet metal parts, but different plastic parts.. lamps etc.

The thing to remember is... this car wouldnt exists if it was going to be a new platform altogether.... well, they could.. but it wont be a sub 25K car for the US.... new platforms would cost millions in development and they wont justify it on a sports coupe unless it sells for a HIGH premium price.

Although they could use the IS-F paltform... to make the new SUPRA!!! but different forums :-)

I believe this prototype will be the production model shape and size. However, I do believe that they may change the head/tail lights and or front/rear bumpers.

Not released yet. Instead of "asking the same old question" why don't you come back this fall after Tokyo auto show and we will have a better idea. Until then it is just speculation.

I feel in bones that next summer they will start to sell it in JPN, then autumn EU.
US probably will get more visually dramatic Scion version, maybe year later.
Just my "feeling" :happy0180:

I would be REALLY surprised to see 17's on this. I can't see them putting anything smaller than 18's on and it and perhaps 19's on the TRD version if there is one.

18's are nice, but that'll bring up the base price. I'm guessing base model start w 17's & I, myself wish they keep it 17's

Yeah but I can't imagine the tC having 18s and this thing getting 17s.

I just hope it has the aggressive lines and flared fenders of the FR-S concept, at least the American scion version.
