So here's my exercise in futility to get back on topic here. Spent a few hours scanning the interwebz for a sound clip and finally found one. You can hear it starting @ 10:44 Enjoy!

Nice find!!

Unfortunately it took one of the worst lines in that corner compared to the other cars before and after it......

I hope it's due to the driver, and not the handling...

Well he did have his hazards on so I'm gonna guess he was just slowing down to let the Porsche and Aston by.

Very well, my car will get stripped down from day one. No stereo, no A/C, no airbags, no rear seats, but instead half-rollcage.

And this can be a road car?

You can take air bags out without voiding road worthy or anything?

In aus you would get defected like nothing.

I live in the middle of the US, and we have to get one $10 inspection every two years. Most of the time the only thing they check is that all of your lights work. If your car fails for some reason then it costs you $20.

Happy.
I'm not familiar at all with their classing rules, but you likely can't run an FT86 in a production class yet as there's probably a requirement that it's a.. well production car. So they ran it in a more open class. That would be my guess.

Basically stock CTRs did very well against the FT as well, but Type-R's in general tend to be quick on track (for what they are) so that's not all that surprising.

Seriously though, I can't figure out how you lost 350 lbs by simply gutting the car. Care to explain?
Well I have no idea how heavy the tubing used in the cage in our integra race car is, but here's some links to pics in case you want to guess (1.75 tubing):

Anyways, we removed:
-Door glass, quarter glass, lexan rear window (net savings of probably 50lbs mostly due to huge rear window)
-All 4 seats, fronts are ~30 each, rears are maybe 10 total, so 70?
-Speakers, no idea on weights.
-All AC components, compressor, lines, blower motor, heater core, condensor, evap, mounting bracket for comp (iron), total weight around 60lbs.
-All interior panels, and cut drivers door opening for nascar door bars. No idea on weights.
-Stock crash beam (normally under the rear seat, right where a bar in the cage goes now) and dash support bracing (again replaced by cage bracing). Some weight saved but mostly offset
-Airbags, 15-20lbs
-Dash itself maybe 5 lbs, it's just plastic and no real weight once everything is removed anyways
-Sound deadening including firewall mat. 50lbs
-ABS pump, wiring, computer removal and conversion to non ABS lines, 30lbs (mostly in the big pump)
-Spare tire and tools, not sure on weights.. whatever they weigh.
-Sunroof, motor and wiring 40-50 lbs, offset a little by sheetmetal and screws
-Power window/locks and associated wiring, window tracks, etc probably 25lbs
-Power steering removal (pump, lines, res, etc, rack looped with a breather)

And I'm forgetting various other items obviously and may be conservative on some of these weights. Everything that wasn't absolutely needed is gone from the car.

Legally, no, but it depends on where you live whether or not you'll get hit with it. Drivers airbag is removed in my ITR and if I ever find the passenger storage piece that replaces that airbag for cheap then I'll remove the passenger side one also.

Crack your empty head, everybody coming up with at least a 300hp & here they are giving us only 200? What is 200 nowadays? I dont even think it could move you & your fat gf.
First off, act with a little maturity kid. Secondly, a 300hp car would be up in the high $20k, low $30k range, which is not what this car is about. You expect a law $20k car to beat a low $30k car? This car is suppose dto be fun and affordable, a drivers car, not something that is insanely fast in straight aways. I guess I don't expect $30k performance for $20k, be a little realistic dude.

Exactly. A mustang will give you that power for low 20s and while it's a great mustang compared to prior generation mustangs it still isn't all that engaging to drive and shouldn't hold a candle to the actual driver feedback that the FRS should provide.
