He wouldn't accept my answer without an explanation. He wouldn't accept that I didn't have an explanation. The best I could say was that I really didn't care and "you asked me." Here you are, trolling a thread for BRZ owners who are telling each other why they chose the BRZ, calling their reasons invalid. Right or wrong, they are TOTALLY valid. Read the posts and that is EXACTLY why people bought this car. I hate the word "troll" because the overwhelming majority of the time it means "disagree with me," but you are trolling. Also, who gives a shit?

Alas though, you are correct, I am in a BRZ forum arguing/trolling with BRZ owners about things that they post as fact that are not fact. I am not a fan of "ignorance is bliss" but I guess it works for some people. Anyways, I'll stop posting in your BRZ forum so that you guys can all sit around on your biased opinions and false facts with no resistance. |

The brand name didn't matter to me. I just got the one that was available since i needed a new car since my supercharged tC died after 245,000 miles on it. The only one i found within 50 miles of me was a WRB BRZ so i ended up with that

I love how this thread has become a collection of posts pertaining to the topic peppered with silly childish arguments.

I'd been set on an FR-S for over a year. When I couldn't get one in 2012 (too far upside down) I saved up some money and decided to wait it out to see what the 2014 model had, intending to buy it in June/July when I assumed they would be released. When I found out that they wouldn't be available until September (or later) I decided to consider other options, and honestly, I'm very glad I did. From what I understand, there won't be much, if any performance increases on the 2014 models, so the FR-S at best will get some of the features of the BRZ Limited (similar to the Scion 10-Series). With this in mind, and the fact that I could get a considerably better interior, push button start, HIDs, and a less 'ricey' front end, the BRZ Limited was the right decision for me.

Am I the only one here who hates leather seats? Things dont breath and they are disgusting during the summer.
Can understand all the other reasons, that one baffles me. Though I do agree the seats in the FRS are a tad ricey. Mine will be getting replaced. |

I never used to like leather seats until I had them. I plan on having this car for a long time and leather lasts longer. And I wanted heated seats (even though she'll be a garage queen in the winter).

Liked the brand (I was coming from a 2000 Legacy GT), and I liked the front end quite a bit more, and I was able to get it at invoice, so BRZ over FR-S was a no-brainer for me. The only things I prefer from the FR-S are the radio (I would have gladly saved $500 and gone with the FR-S radio or a similar one if the option had been available) and the faux carbon fiber dash (nah bro, it's actually mini toyota logos!!!!!111). I've ordered faux brushed aluminum gunmetal vinyl, and I'm going to try wrapping it myself after taking it off and confirming that it's easy to remove, and that the airbag isn't set up to explode through that piece. If that works out well, I'll try to do the other silver painted trim pieces like the HVAC and shifter surrounds in it, and order Aussie GT-spec black pieces for anything I can't wrap so that it doesn't clash with the gunmetal.
Premium vs. Limited was where I had to do most of my thinking. I wanted a Premium at first, but the only GBS Premium I could find nearby had a spoiler. I was pretty ambivalent towards the spoiler (same with the dual zone climate control and the fog lights), but it essentially took me from "Do I want to pay $1700 for keyless start and alcantra and heated seats to "Do I want to pay $1300 for keyless start and alcantra and heated seats", which I did. The only thing I'm not really a fan of is the foglights, I think the car looks nicer without them. The front end has a bit too much going on with a total of 8 different light assemblies, and it's never actually foggy enough to use them (and even if it was, I think I'd have better performance just lowering the headlights with the knob) After five weeks of ownership, I am very happy I went with the Limited. The seats look a lot nicer, and the keyless start has become really convenient. I feel like if I had a Premium, I'd probably be ****ing around with aftermarket push button starts or flip key fobs or stupid crap like that. I want to have this car for a long time, so I'm glad I didn't leave any options on the table that I might kick myself over in the future. The keyless and leather really make it feel like a premium sports car.

Relax. It's natural to want to defend your own car when you disagree with people's opinions of why they didn't buy it, but it's a little silly to get so aggravated over it. |

It is true they last longer. I'm not saying everyone should dislike them, I just prefer something that breathes. Driving 3 hours in the Arizona heat a/c or not my back would break out like the plague.

I really felt exactly the same for a long time. Never thought I'd buy a car with leather seats, let alone refuse to buy a car without. I think they have some process that makes leather better than it was in the 80s and 90s now. Or maybe I'm crazy. Either way,

I ended up with the Scion since my BRZ never came in. Don't regret it, it was nice to save some money.
Things that appealed to me about the BRZ over the FR-S, or at least used to: HID's: The BRZ has them stock which is nice, though come to find out they aren't terribly great. That and Retroquicks for the FR-S are cheap. Boomerangs: Wish they were brighter but they're still seriously badass. Interior: I originally ordered a Premium, but even its seats look much nicer than the FR-S's boring ass plain fabric with stupid red shoulderpads. The BRZ's gauge cluster is more understated and attractive. Navi: Sounded good at first, come to find out it is mediocre. Brand: Not gonna lie, owning a Subaru is sexier. I'd rather have more association with WRX's than tC's. Sorry, I'm fickle like that. Why I'm not heart broken I went with the FR-S: Cost: Lower price good! Styling: I like both but the front end of the FR-S is just a bit more attractive to me. Headlights: Not HID's but they're awesome. Easy to retrofit. Availability: Dealership just happened to have exactly what I wanted, so I jumped.
