Generally speaking, when cars are offered with both regular halogen projectors and also HIDs, there is a big difference between the two when the same projectors are used. I've had two Evo IXs -- one without HIDs (regular model) and one with HIDs (SE model), and the difference was significant. I wouldn't be surprised if the difference between the FR-S's halogens and the BRZ's HIDs was also very noticeable.

I agree that most of the lowest level engineering was definitely done by Subaru. But all the same, your statement is not only based on the subjective opinion of one journalist, but it also doesn't encompass the entire subjective opinion of what that journalist said. You pick and chose what you wanted from his opinion to suit your needs.

Like you said, the plan was from Toyota, and the Manufacturing is from Subaru, and from Subaru Assembly line as well. I agree that the car would be something else if it wasn't for Toyo-Suba. But that was my opinion

Purchased my DGM LTD AG for the following reasons:
1 - Push button start 2 - Leather 3 - Auto climate control That made it worth the extra $. I was coming from an '08 Scion xB, so I was shopping the FRS first. |

The BRZ just looks a lot better than the FRS in my eyes. I think the front end of the FRS is hideous. The HID, push start, auto climate, and interior were just bonuses.

I opted for the BRZ Premium because:
1. HID lights, LED lights, huuuge fan of the "boomerang" LED strip. (LED DRL reminds me of the C-class Benz DRLs, LED strip reminds me of Audi A4s) 2. I personally prefer a smiley fascia versus an angry one. 3. Interior to me looked better, I prefer the silver trim versus the faux carbon fiber trim 4. Interior seats seemed better as well. 5. Navigation & homelink auto-dim mirror & compass (pretty nifty & convenient). Disliked the pioneer 1990s look on the FR-S audio system. 6. For $1200 more, I rather get the Subaru for stuff mentioned above & brand. 7. If Toyota sold the GT86 here, I think I would opt for a hot-lava one (: |

Car:Front OE Spring Rate: Subaru BRZ27 N/mm (153 lbs/in) Scion FR-S23 N/mm (131 lbs/in) Rear OE Spring Rate: Subaru BRZ34 N/mm (195 lbs/in) Scion FR-S37 N/mm (211 lbs/in) Front is stiffer rear is softer Id like to know the ratio of brz owners who claim the brz handles better to the number of them that change the stock suspension anyways lol |

Dont forget the LEDs, I love driving during cloudy/rainy days where I'll just blast the LED and daytime running lights and cruise around looking cool as fuck.
