LOL at the MR2 vid. That car can drift easily and stay on course. Even Front engine cars can get into trouble if you do the same thing. It's all about different ways to correct the issue.
It's up to the driver to know their own car. You don't buy a cow and ride it like a race horse, same with cars. |

Agreed. Really sick and tired of people who clearly know nothing of driving making posts.
The op doesn't even realize all the comments from mags on suspension tuning are stating the car is very easy to control. MORONIC, I wish the mods were moderating stupidity? |

I'm really, really glad that this car wasn't designed for the lowest common denominator like most cars out there. And neutral chassis/suspension with defeatable stability control gives the best of both worlds. Look on the bright side.

Why the hell would they tune a RWD car to handle like a FWD? What would even be the point of buying this car? People said the same thing when the V6 Camaro/Mustang broke 300HP barrier so settle down this car is not gonna be slaughtering young driver.

I'm excited to hear that the FR-S will be more nimble and responsive from the factory than the BRZ, it just reaffirms my thoughts that the BRZ is more of the GT/'Luxury' version of the two. Also, seven years ago I was 18 years old and bought my first car, an '89 MR2. No ABS, no power steering, no traction control of aids of ANY kind. It taught me so much about driving despite biting me a couple times in the rain when I didn't want it to. If I can get the same feeling of responsiveness from the FR-S that I got from my old MR2, I'll be happy. |

I agree with OP with hopefully this car attracts an older crowd. I am not saying older means smarter, but hopefully older means more experience and more experience driving is whats going to seperate handling a car responsibly on the public roads where safety is a concern. Driving is a privilege not a right. It should be taken away from those who cant handle it. But it doesnt mean that car companies should dumb down cars. Because both toyota and subaru have cars that fit the category of an easy/safe drive. I am glad that this car was made. Its been due for a long time.
