A lot of people are saying that you can't boost much with the 12.5:1 CR. Is that necessarily true when you have direct injection?
Turbo diesel engines, which use a form of direct injection, typically have compression ratios greater than 15:1. If they tune the direct injection to delay when the fuel is injected, you can avoid detonation. Not sure how that would be different from a diesel, other than the type of fuel, though. Of course the block has to be able to handle it, but subaru already makes a turbodiesel outside the US, so maybe the FA block can take it. |

TRD never dropped Vortech because Vortech wanted NOTHING to do with the 2AZ supercharger. Vortech advised Toyota that a shaft driven centrifugal supercharger was a terrible idea and wouldn't offer any official support or warranty... Toyota bought the parts from Vortech and created a disaster on their own.

Also what people don't get is that faster =/= more fun. Grippier wider tires for example mean it takes that much more speed/work to get it to break traction. If you think brute speed is what makes a car fun, go buy a used Pontiac (Holden) GTO, or a V6 Mustang. |

+1 I think Toyota should have built racetracks around the US in preparation for this car, because some people just won't "get it" until they've been around some hairpin turns. |

I had Nitto 555R drag radials on my MR2 Turbo and it still spun the tires whenever I wanted it to. Just plain fun.

Yes, this could be false information but IMO not to mention that the car doesnt peak at 7,450rpm so it has room for such an upgrade and as for Scion it might be a bolt on upgrade. I am definately waiting for an actual confirmation on this upgrade for a purchase.

More power = faster pulling out of certain turns where you can't carry a high speed into. Pulling harder out of said turns faster = more fun, for me at least. |

"The standard GT 86 needs around 6.8sec and does 143mph."
I thought the 86 already does 0-100km/h in 6.0 seconds? |

not so sure why tada-san hates turbos so much, but i'm glad for all the power heads that this is happening. i prefer n/a and am quite satisfied with 200hp but there are plenty of people here that have been clamoring for more.
