Ok, serious question, because I made a claim, but I honestly don't know: How often do you go through tires? Or are there specialized tires made for that kind of negative camber? What does that kind of rubber cost?
Since you've made yourself known now, why not take this thread from just purely bashing hellaflush and give us a bit of edumacation

It all depends on the camber hes running, but if your toe is set to 0 you surprisingly will not eat through tires as fast as people would think. |

there is no edumacation to be had,
there is nothing in the suspension designed to be loaded that way, the kids involved in this "scene" wouldn't do this if they understood what was actually happening. or they would continue despite the realization that they are endangering themselves and those around them...either way don't expect any statements leading to an "ah-ha" moment...maybe a haha moment but no clarity will come from these masterminds of negative camber. |

Get off your high horse Gem. I know you are some track god that parades this place like you are a know it all, but that doesn't make you better than anyone else that is on this forum. I don't agree with how much camber hes running, and I was talking more in terms of a more mild camber setup. So my fault for not clarifying. My brother has -3 camber in the rear on his GR STi. He is on his third year of using them on the street (not through winter though) |

My friend's GC8 STi runs -3 and it doesn't look out of place, either. Heck, a lot of BMW's run at least -3 from the factory.

Maybe we should get your brother to counsel us on why he is running -3 on the street, by all measures, thats way too much for a street alignment, but perhaps I will learn something about aligning cars for the street today. but your brothers not wrong for setting it up like that if thats what you want, like the OP, some guys run -5, what do I know and I'm not on a high horse. take a look at what the factory specs are, and if someone is gonna deviate from that, they should have sound reasons why they are dialing in a certain setting, be it -1,-2-3,-4 or -7. My M3 setup for street and track has only -1.2 rear and my BRZ is a measly -2.0 rear, that I am gonna dial back down a hair I'm just not doing it right, I cant wait till I can have someone show me how to do this correctly. |

fwiw Speedsource used to run -5° and more, on their RX8 Grand Am GT cars. We had to redesign the suspension on the second generation chassis to accommodate all the negative camber they wanted.
