Yea well I was personally stuck between the ford focus ST and scion fr-s. I'll have to drive them and check out what massive upgrades the fr-s has available. Also the ST is already turbo 250hp which is pretty sweet. Oh and also the interior looks like a spaceship.

Actually that is Insideline.com's project Miata, but mine is pretty similar sans a number of tasty upgrades. Mine does have the headrest speakers, but the damn car is so loud on the highway that they don't seem to do much. Oh well...I'm too busy having fun most of the time to care

Anyway, sorry for the thread jack, everyone; back to your regularly scheduled turbo/AWD/base price discussions...

No for the simple reason that 86 can also be in reference to the 86x86 Bore and Stroke of the motor.

It's a Piston with an 86 in the middle. Fits perfect for that reason. Aside from that, just because they are Scion does not mean they can not pay homage to the older brother to this car.

With all the Complaints aside, Ichi I have a question were you able to tell if the Car Scion was showing was painted with Scion's own colors and not Subaru's like Toyota, for example Whiteout isn't just Satin White or Firestorm isn't just Lighting red, Im sure you'll be able to tell since your in a Subaru Club.

Does the chassis code have an 86 in it?

I don't imagine there was any way you could tell.

Bro, it's not even setup yet. You can't buy it from the site or get a quote because it's not even released.

Therefore, aftermarket for the "GO" is off hand very limited.

As for interior, as a non-competing auto enthusiast, I really don't like to waste money hyping up my interior. The only thing I touch is the audio because most non-luxury stock sound is like shit anyways. Who the hell hook up center consoles or any interior trim anyways. It is is a big headache to replace, and once replaced making sure things are tightly secured because you bound to catch stupid "clink clanks" every time parts are disassembled and reassembled.

So my conclusion is don't hate the people who are complaining that Scion went cheapo on the 86. I can afford the under $25K non-turbo car with nice leather seats, nice/premium material for center console and driving interface that is appealing to sit in and use.

To satisfy both end of the spectrum, Toyota should have imported both the 86 and FRS into the US.

FRS being the cheapo FT-86 for the teenagers who have their parents buy it for them. The more premium 86 and BRZ can cater to me and the go getter who has pocket change for the extra gear.

Aftermarket is BS for fitment and functionality when it comes to linear engineering, OEM nicely designed parts fit well and work under company warranty because all parts that come together were engineered at the same time and under the same fabrication environment.

FRS = diarrhea of the FT-86 Development!!! =)
Didn't I read a long time ago you can SWAP this guy out for another boxer engine that Subaru makes because they really wanted the option for someone to do so to do it without having to change the mounts?

If you're gonna spend a lot of money doing a turbo setup that might or might not work well, why not invest in a stock turbo engine swap instead?

I'm not one to do something like this but I think this always gets overlooked in these talks...

Black one idk (all the black look the same to me). Firestorm looks a bit different color than lightning red... But it might be lighting

hmm so it's possible it's just the Toyota 86's colors that's all Subaru colors... that's disappointing if that's the case, was hoping SCION will make it's own colors. But any cost saving I suppose is appreciated, besides Subaru colors are really nice to begin with just Lighting red isn't the best red.

ay yai yai, so much complaining over something afforadable. Not gonna lie, was kinda a let down with the tacky looks of the interior, but looking at everything its worth it. Means it'll be cheaper and can be modified later. Gonna do everything in my power to be able to afford this car.

Anyway, might anyone know what these buttons next to the dash are?

o.o blue seats might look good in a WRCII blue BRZ... like the stitching but not the blue center ;/
