So far, I ran a single red (for positive) wire up to my dome light. It routes down the driver side a-pillar then in the footwells. From there, I'll split that into two, one for each door. I'm pretty sure that the green wire is the wire to tap. Only things holding me back are the door panels and the time I would need.

New Idea
Hey folks, I've been ready all the posts on this topic, everyone seems to have done a pile of research on it. I purchased an aftermarket set of LED Laser Door Step Lights with the "Scion" Logo, the go into the bottom of the door and then wired to power (anywhere) according to a body shop I've spoken to suggested using the auto window down switch near the latch for the door. Any suggestions comments or criticisms would be appreciated.

I started working on this yesterday. Getting the wires through the loom is going to be the biggest trouble.

interseting!?!
I did notice that in my car (brz premium) this clip, female part has 6 wires but male counterpart has only two pins...could two of these wires be the missing power supply

I admitted defeat. The wire loom for the door is a bigger pain than it is worth.

Probably doesn't matter but I was changing the LEDs in my gf's camry and I noticed that the housing is the exact same as ours but hers has a light. So I took hers and put it in my car and its a perfect fit. So I ordered 2 of them and now I'm in the process of wiring it up.
