Huh... these pictures make it look a lot better than the press release ~_~; Sigh... tough tough color choices. I wonder if they'll have a dark grey...

Nice pictures btw!

@Ichi what's the debate if you don't mind me asking about it.

It was debate on if it came w paddle shift, where you want it. On the wheel or on the collium. Sadly, I'm currently out of my place & can search the thread fast, so I would recommend DIY

great shots

Thanks for getting good shots of the dirty bits. I like the nice beefy looking tie rods

But what the hell is up with that exhaust design? I'm curious if there is a lot of power locked up in that labyrinth. Also couldn't overlook the single piston calipers that all of the cars have...how long until they come out with the "track" version?

I'm sold, hopefully those seats will make it into the US model. It looks like Subaru/Toyota finally came to their senses and used the 5x114.3 hubs and not the rubbish 5x100 like the WRX that like to eat wheel bearings.

The little FB20 looks like it can move quite a bit of air, judging by the exhaust header and the size of the intake runners, much bigger than the EJ25.

My bet is, it's same calipers as Impreza. Which means f2/r1 piston calipers

Oh my bad, correction on my question. Why is it advantageous to have it on the wheel etc. I'm trying to look for that thread, just forum's lagging at the moment lol.

Oh and how would the car be for someone around my height 5'7/5'8? I assume I can still see ... lol. Then again the car's visability for people sitting down really depends on the length of torso/legs so it should be good...

Seems that the 86 / GT86 had its limelight even before the Tokyo Motor Show. There's only a single color on display (orange) and it's not as accessible as the BRZ (up on a pedestal).

My guess is that Toyota and Subaru didn't want to steal each other's thunder, so Toyota had its big 86 reveal at the Fuji Speedway over the weekend and Subaru BRZ gets the spotlight here at TMS.

Nice! I wonder if paddle shift is as fun as full manual...

Allow me to take this question: the debate of the location of paddle shifter either on the wheel or on the column. The essence of the debate is based on preference. F1 style has it on the wheel, while other sports car have it on the column. Then someone argues that while on the column it is better for him to shift because the paddles do not turn as the wheel turn, while others want to keep it like the F1 style.

Hopefully I summarize it correctly...

good point. It would make sense to stagger the release. Thank you for all of your work!

I thought I read somewhere that it will have the 5x100 bolt pattern.

Anyway, love all the detailed photos. I was really diggin the GT86, but I like the simpler front bumper of the BRZ. I really like white. I just can't wait to see how Scion and Subaru price this thing. I'd take a lower trim version at $19999. I'm really happy with teh specs of this car all around. Light weight was really important. I hated how the Hyundai Genesis coupe came out 3200lbs. I drove it with its 210hp and it was gutless and boring. Can't wait to take this for a spin. Just in time as my 2002 WRX is getting on in miles/years.
I'm curious how a direct injected NA motor will respond to tuning. I'm hoping that since it has 12.5 compression, that intake and exhaust with a tune will net 25-40 crank hp. 225-240hp should be a blast in 2600lbs.

If we're allowed requests, please get a picture of an occupied back seat. Preferably not a Japanese female, but someone of around 5'9" if you can.

175 cm if you're metric.

The picture of the occupied front passenger is giving me hope that I lost when I saw the picture of the 2.5 inch legroom for the back. Maybe it can be moved up and still usable for both front and back.
