I mean nissan has had amazing ring times through the gtr line up that when independently tested had massive lap difference

not picking on nissan just 1st one on the top of my head
I only heard that the ~450hp something in old R35 was underrated, it was supposed to be more powerful than what company estimated.

Yeah, because since every engine was hand made, they all had different amounts of HP.

yea hugely underrated but I was referring to when they brought out the R33 to the ring and got a amazing time which no one independently could come close to matching and generally it is believed that Nissan used different tyres (a lot of people think the same with the new GTR lap time as well since it hasnt been matched by anyone else) and maybe a slight tune for the track

Yeah, I heard about that too. Porsche said they bought GT-R R35 and tried many times at the ring, but they couldn't get the same result Nissan got. Probably slightly tune suspension.
