They didn't say anything! The punks. Time for another oil change next week to give them another chance to be impressed.

...Also, mine just arrived and look good. To bad it's way too cold to install them.
Thanks for explaining how it works.

Strange way to apply sales tax by only penalising those who buy from their own state?

Technically, we are required to pay these taxes to out of state vendors when we do our annual tax returns. However, I don't know anyone who volunteers this information to the IRS.

Vendors are required to tax customers in states they have a nexus in.

Yes, the US tax code is a cumbersome system. It begs to be simplified. We wouldn't need the IRS as it exists if it wasn't so complex.

Sorry for taking this off topic but I have to say that I totally agree, it needs to be simplified. Sales tax should be a one off, collected by the retailer from all sales of the items it applies to. If anyone's exempt then they claim it back from the IRS.
However, it shouldn't apply to overseas customers because we don't benefit from the infrastructure that tax supports!

The sales tax belongs to the state, not the vendor. Met and got along quite well with an Aussie fellow who was visiting for a few days back in college; all of your taxes are included in the listed price you pay from what I understand?

It's called GST here, goods and services tax and is collected by the Federal Government. 10% on top except for exemptions for essentials such as unprocessed food. We have killer stamp duty on homes. I bought a home for AU$700,000 in 2008 and paid $31,000 stamp duty to the state government.
That hurt when I wrote the cheque!!

Sorry GrimmSpeed, I didn't mean to highjack the thread.

Yeah...a friend of mine just closed on a house recently for probably $650K and sent $20K directly to the state.

Back on topic: Too cold to install these outside as I have no usable garage space right now. @GrimmSpeed, any input/comment on how different manufacturers are locating their struts? See the pictures of the SYMS kit @Beyer Subaru posted. I'm just interested in the design choices made really.

Chase will probably chime in here, since he did the design on this one, but I know that he prototyped a kit that looked pretty much exactly like the SYMS kit. From what I recall, it didn't raise the hood as high and the strut ended up in your way if you were working on your car; those were two of our main design objectives. The geometry of the linkage is also different, which has a substantial affect on how the kit 'behaves', but I'll stop there and let Chase pick up the pieces before I misinform anybody.
