this looks like the best option. IS there any way that it can match in with the dash though? colour wise.

No problem. The airbag functions as a curtain, so it'll shoot down. When deployed, the pillars don't completely separate off the metal frame of the car. As long as there is slack in the wiring and tubing for the gauges and the gauges are snug, you won't see a one go anywhere. The pillar actually comes away from the car itself maybe an inch or two. I'll try to upload images of the clip to help with this image.

What do you think of this one? We're making this one custom for a turbo install in house. Obviously this is not a finished product. It will require some cutting behind to fit some of the deeper gauges but overall we love the fit. I'm going to do a second pod on the left side with the gauge controls relocated to the trunk release panel where the leveling headlight control would usually be. I'll post pics up once complete as well.

I think they will look really good. Smart thinking here.

The first picture is of the clip attached to the pillar. The second is the picture of the clip separated. As you can see, when the airbag goes off, the pillar itself doesn't fully detach from the car. (FYI: The part of the clip that attaches to the vehicle is a real pain to get off.) It will only push out the length of this green clip. I hope that will alleviate any anxiety you guys have of our pillars. (Again, we mold our pods into factory pillars so, all airbag functions are retained. We just received 10 pillar sets in from Scion, so we will begin production soon.) ![]()

Here we go... Finally managed to make decent pictures.. As i dont have my gauges yet - had to improvise - and use cheap'o looking china-shiz brang gauges - so they are not the best looking ones- sorry
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Heres a better looking Defi gauge that i had, with black bezel... Looks 10x better.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Im gonna be experimenting with som eside vents - so will post pics of the pod with vents pretty soon too

Why? Gauges are CLEARLY visible, even the last one is totaly visible - and having them tilted to driver would just mean ODD unequal looking shape of the pod... This would not look anyway near good -and there would be none to less better then having them flat... When i was building it - i overlooked almost all the placment issues - and honestly - simple flat is the way to go. I know its hard to get the full view in the photo - but once you are sitting in the seat - its enouth of just one glance without turning your head to see all the gauges clearly...

From what ive seen i like the pillar one and maybe the one on the right side of dash. I think a good one would be right on top of the ac vents like how some people have it in the sti, that looks cleanest
