I drove the first heat and worked the second. Do you think you'll be making it out the CENLA event this weekend? Should be a lot of fun.

Nope, won't make it. Got to go back to work this weekend.. Are you on springs or coil overs? Stance looked great at the track.

If you ever see a course with a pivot cone, run! Worst element ever.
Come to Cenlas event this weekend, courses are close to a mile long and very fast.
Go to Cenla scca facebook page for details and course map..

I just saw the Cenla newsletter. It looks like after the autocross is over and we finish tear-down, they're going to host us for a couple of touring laps of the full course. Should be a great day if the weather holds (currently at 30% chance of rain).

Hmm, I wonder how many people here who auto-x remember my old auto-x car. It was about 6 years ago when I last did an auto-x in this FWD beast...any of you been around that long?

I'll be getting back into it next year with my new FR-S. How many FR-S/BRZ are out there now autocrossing locally?

From what I remember, CENLA events sometimes used to pull in 50-60 participants. Not so much anymore?

No. We have been fighting with site availability. Evo center is pretty much gone to us, tried a couple other sites, but no go.
But this year we are set up with NPR. We should be nailing down a schedule for the year soon. If we can get people to drive out there, hopefully we can get the numbers back up.

That sucks. I thought the EVOC was absolutely perfect. State police had a change of heart?

Lamar Dixon ended when I was doing it due to insurance change or something like that. Is that the same story on Cabella's?

I remember there was an auto-x at NPR about 9 years ago I think. It was loads of fun as they let us use a small portion of the track.

Yeah, we usually incorporate a portion of the peanut. It sounds like we've gotten a long-term commitment on site availability from NPR, which is nice. The only problem is that for Baton Rougeans (Red Stickers? what the heck is our demonym anyway?), our "local" event site is an hour away while the next region over's event site is only an hour and a half.

EVOC is was rented out by a private military training firm for 320 days last year. And when they are out there, nobody else is allowed on site. Did not leave any room for us, and. They don't need our small money.
Cabelas was just too small. They would not give us their biggest lot and it was not easy having paddock far away from course and grid in a live parking lot.
NPR allows for some of the longest and fastest courses in the state. Events there so far have been a blast. But, it's in bfe. Hard to get people out there.
