I would be very happy with 250hp. At that level the motor should last a while too.

Do actually have some updates... First day of tuning had it's issues, of course, but we did reach 240whp/222ft/lbs of torque with just 4psi of boost. 240whp was reached at 6800rpm, and peak torque was reached about 3000rpm. For comparison, we started at about 160whp/140ft/lbs, so in a general sense, we already reached our first goal (80whp gain).

It's by no means final figures, as this is by no means the end of tuning. Just getting a feel for the engine and setup right now, then we'll start ramping things up a bit. By no means is 4psi the limits of the turbo or engine, we are just cautious about this and going over everything carefully.
Very much liking the sounds of this... !!

Paul, thanks for the update, I hear your congregation claps out loud )

we all consider these numbers as just on-going, but even they are imprezzive !

3K peak torque is same as stock 3K, so that should by no means be less street driveable

pls tell us you got rid of that torque_dip with your ball-bearing precious and gained a flat torque_valley to the redline instead?

I know your approach is stepping very cautious, so I see your warm care in this and thankful for that, but ...

God I wish you could make this kit reaching 300whp on 93, keeping stock injectors (I guess they max out at ~8-9 psi with safe AFR's) and most everything stock

AFAIK ECUTek allows 5 different maps for BRZ\86 ECU, so I'd just love to have 3 maps:

0) boring fuel economy mode \ safe suburbia cruising on a doubtful fuel
1) daily driven face smiling @4psi 240whp
2) having evil fun @8psi 300whp with all that launch controls, flat foot shifts, auto blipping & stuff

also as soon as you make your mind on ByPass\BOV options, let us know please

thumbs up AVO!

sounds awesome, also 240hp on 4psi with a quick tune, seems the UEL header is working just fine, I guess all the groupies were wrong.

I would be happy staying with those numbers!
Those seem like the most even torque to HP ratios I've seen.
exciting! the car finally has usable torque!

The torque might go down if they shift the power band up with tuning. But yea, that's a lot of torque. Might have to get a clutch upgrade with that much power.

Going back on the road. Saw the dyno pic last night, and my apologies, have no way here of uploading them. Some further tuning on the standard map sensor and going to 5psi saw about the same torque, though coming in a touch earlier, and power increased to 248-249whp at 7000rpm. The hp curve looks like, uh, well, it's not a curve. I think somebody laid down a ruler on the dyno screen. Torque curve has a sharp climb from low revs to 3k, then plateau's for a while. A long while.

From 1500 revs onwards, there is a good 20 ft/lbs more torque than stock, that turbo must really be coming in early. I want this on the AVO USA FR-S right now!

Tell them to leave it alone that sounds perfect.

Thanks!

Please try and get a pic of that dyno i think this is the kit that everyone is waiting for. Take a pic with your cell phone if you have to

On another note, does the engine have to be lifted to install this turbo in such a remote location?
