Average wait time on Volks?

Well, we can tell you're pissed (and I would be as well), but no need to be bitter towards others.

Hopefully everything works out for you and you get your money back and you can get your correct set of wheels from ANOTHER vendor that's more respected. Possibly a shorter wait time as well. Or have them order the correct wheels and have them give you a discounted rate and throw in some lugs, but this is Vivid we're talking about...

Agree with what others have said: a 7.5" wheel with +33 offset is a much better fitment than +43 on our cars. +31 would be flush in front and +24 in the back....So +43 will be real tucked. Also I think bronze > gold, but that's just personal preference obviously.

Of course though, you should get what YOU want and what you actually ordered.

I think you guys are getting away from the point here. who cares what u think will look better or what will be more flush or a better fitment. its all subjective.

if the man wants to spend that money and get poo brown and +60 offset all the power to him. who are we to tell him otherwise.

should of just got what was ordered in the first place.

This is what is known as "concern trolling". You need to forget about my tone in responding to people who feel the need to drop unsolicited opinions in a thread, without contributing anything else of value. The only reason they posted what they did is to let me know they thought my choice in wheels was dumb; okay, maybe that would be acceptable... IF I had asked, "Gee guys, what do you think of this size wheel...?"

So they gave me an unsolicited opinion telling me my choice in wheels suck. I (very mildly) told them to get bent. Deal with it.

(Actually, I didn't even do that; the one I politely informed him that if he liked them so much they would be available for immediate purchase, and the other I merely called out on the absurdity of suggesting a 43 offset is too high when the stock ones are 48. Trust me... that's nowhere NEAR me being "bitter".)

That's a 17x7.5 in a +50 offset... and looks pretty damn spot on for what I wanted. You don't like it, fine... go comment on that thread. In fact, once I DO get my CE28's, I know I'll be posting pics on here as well, so feel free to tell me how much you hate them as much as you want on there.

But don't come onto a thread inquiring about wait-times for wheels just to knock my tastes... ESPECIALLY after I had to put up with dealing with three people over two days at Vivid treating my like a fifteen-year-old who's trying to pimp his mom's Civic. This ain't my first time buying wheels for a car, and I haven't had to "ask for professional advice" regarding fitment (much less "internet troll advice") in over 15 years.

UPDATE: I've been keeping pretty mum about my dealings in getting this problem resolved, because I'd like to be done with the whole thing and have a refund check in hand before filling everybody in on the whole situation. But I will say that, since Mackin Industries (the sole distributer for Rays in America) seems to have roughly the same reputation as Vivid Racing, I've decided to sidestep them altogether and try to find a store in Japan that will order them, and have some friends of mine who live there ship them to me. Might be a bit more expensive in the long-run (or maybe even cheaper), but it's worth it to me for superior Japanese customer service. I'll keep everyone informed (eventually) about how things wrap up with Vivid, and how things work out ordering direct from Japan. If it goes well, then maybe that'll provide options for other people not happy with Mackin.

Oh, and thanks for the words of support from everyone NOT knocking my choice in wheels!

Good luck Mr Cartman. I used to have a set of CE28Ns and they are beautiful wheels. Probably not beautiful enough to deal with the poor service and dumb arse comments, but close. FWIW, I'm using a +46 on my car. Function over form, but you'll have both. I applaud that.

There might be a reason that more than a few of us are going with 17s in near-stock offsets. The 57xtremes I have on order are 17x7 +42.

Sorry to hear that. I have ordered many Ray's wheels and it is usually 4-6 weeks but I once waited 6 months for a special order set of TE37SL.

All i said is i would prefer what they sent you no need to get all bent out of shape, and if you post a thread on any forum expect plenty of responses with little to no value it comes with the territory.

Might be better aesthetically but it's a downgrade in a functional aspect. Instead of the wheel bearing the car's weight on the dead center in relation to the intended point for the hub/bearing (+48 mm), it is extended out creating a 15mm lever arm that increases load on the bearing. In the short term this is neglibible and probably better than the alternative of running spacers or neglecting hubcentric rings but it is something worth considering when shopping for wheels and selecting an offset. That's why we see STI wheels running 7.5 width +48 offset, TRD wheels running 7.5 width +46 offset, and Five Axis wheels running +45mm offset with wider 8.5"/9.5" barrels doing most of the job for stance/aesthetics.

The OP's original wheel choice is pretty damn ideal for fitment, performance (no super wide barrel adding weight/robbing whp), and the long term.

What you need to understand is that the OP doesn't give a damn what you like nor think. He didn't create a thread to seek your opinion of his wheel choice as unlike many on here, he appears quite capable of making a good decision all on his own.

There are dozens of threads where the ricey hella stanz flushers can back slap each other over how sikly they've ruined their ridez, but this thread was simply just about the OP giving a vendor a lot of money, then after waiting a long time was sent a completely incorrect product and is now basically being fobbed off.

Imagine if you order some fullee sik rice for your car and were instead sent something functional and told that you were better off with this. That's kind of how the OP feels, but worse as this stuff up effects more than just his interweb image.

Depends on a lot of things. If they're not in stock in the states, a typical wait time to get them from overseas, I've seen anywhere between 6-16 weeks. Sometimes you can get lucky in which if it's on the boat coming over to the states, you can pick up a set that hasn't been pre-ordered.

I never said he shouldn't be upset about being sent the wrong product, all i said was i would prefer what they sent which is still not even an aggressive or "ricer" fitment as you like to call it. I never said they were a bad choice just not what I would order and i'm pretty sure i can state my opinion any where that i please its a freaking forum about cars take it easy.
