i do have some hip flexor mobility issues from said powerlifting, but it has never been an issue before. i'll stretch more often and cross my fingers.

Try moving your seat forward a bit. I used to lift heavy too, and I never find seats comfortable now. Everything always digs into my hammies where they insert under the glutes. Best way is to get the knee a bit higher and relieve the tension and let the blood flow.

Is the seat that different than the BRZ? I'm ancient and the only thing I have noticed is that since I have to use more leg and knee strength getting in and out my knees have started hurting less. (3 knee surgeries in the past).

I had back leg pain with the stock seats as well. I switched to status racing seats and voila much better.
