So it is possible they skip a wiper (I hope they don't).
the gen coupe looks like a hatch but is not!

and the FT has few black tape to hide the shocks.

EDIT* by the way that's one nice looking GC.

Yep it is too early to tell until we get more evidence. There are examples from current cars supporting that they could go either way; traditional trunk vs. hatch.

As a side note, look at the tight angle on the GC, I would hate to have to angle in wheels to put them in or take them out. It would be fine, but not as easy as it could be.

Didn't the Scion VP insist that the FR-S could fit a set of track tires in the vehicle? If the rear seats fold flat, it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm okay with skipping the rear wiper. It's almost useless in the rain anyway since as you drive the rain barely touches the rear window. This is at least the case with my Celica.

However, the rear wiper DOES come in handy in snowy areas. I had to use mine in SLC a few times.

Not yet. I haven't seen it and as far as I know no-one in the US has yet. Will post as soon as have info. Confirmed this morning FB20 but will confirm on eyeballing it. I'm hoping FB25. Expect direct injection, but again will confirm.

correct me if i'm wrong... but the scion presentation said 4 wheels + jack WITH the seats folded down... which I can ALMOST do with my g35 coupe... I don't doubt that a hatch / lift-back is possible, but I doubt it just because of the lines of the "trunk"

That's what I though too and looking from the inside there is a cover like a behind the passenger seats instead of an open area that many hatchbacks have.
But there are hatchbacks that have a "trunk" on them that lifts up with the hatch so I'm still not 100% certain.

I've never heard it called anything but a coupe officially if that means anything.

I don't know either, but they should make a body style called SHOOTING BRAKE.

Between that funky double side window, the headlights, the fog light cluster, and the tail lights, I would probably guess that this [insert latest term here] is probably the Subaru version. Those oddly round headlights and tails seem more subaruish than Toyota/Scion. The foglight cluster and the window setup are very similar to what is already in other Subaru models.

I personally like the MKII concept the best and hope that's what it comes out looking like but even if it only comes close, just like with other cars, we can replace the wheels, fenders, hood, etc etc to suit our taste.

Either way, it doesn't really matter which version they're testing as what's underneath is going to be the same. We've waited this long, be patient until we see what the final product actually looks like.

It could go either way as evidenced by Celica and Scion tC using a hatchback w/ trunk lid or a traditional trunk like the Hyundai GC. Either options will be possible. We will just have to wait and see.
