That you might need to wait for RRnold to get you. I thought you wanted info on this being a 5Axis project with Toyota. I will see if I can find something for you regarding the later part.

Toyota and Subaru already have plants here in America.
Make the sheet metal here with parts shipped from Japan. (Engine, chassis, etc) Take a look at the Honda Accord before they brought it over as the TSX. We got the big V6/I4 American Accord while Japan and Europe got the Euro Accord which was smaller with a four banger. |

Okay, so no one obviously was expecting the diffuser or the brakes or the bumpers. That kind of stuff five axis probably did. That doesn't mean the overall body shape isn't going to remain.

The Civic isn't totally different sheet metal though. The differences between USDM and JDM are the front fenders, hood, front bumper, grill, tail lights, trunk. Rear bumper is slightly different but interchangeable.
So chances are you're not going to get a totally different body for the FRS. The profile will probably be the same, and the sheet metal would likely be the same or very similar. At best bumpers, headlights 'n such could be different, but I don't see why they'd do that. |

i REALLY hope the mule we're seeing will not be the final production version in the us b/c it's looks a lot more like the mkII than it does the FRS. WHAT THE HECK? did toyota not realize that most people didn't really like the mkII, but that everyone was drooling over the FRS? man. seriously, i hope toyota doesn't disappoint us.
although it's very unlikely toyota would be coming out with two separate bodies for the us market and the markets in the rest of the world, i sure hope that will be the case... or that the mule was a subie version like everyone else has said |

On all these pics, what I expect the remain is the badge.
![]() ![]() I think the weld area where the front badge located will stay there. I also expected the headlight to remain the same shape( lose the gimmick LED and showcar light for regular projector). Is that too much, Ichi? |
