Wait.. why do you estimate 155tq? I thought they're using the Impreza 2.0L motor? Those motors are at 170tq. Why would it go down when they're putting work into it?

how wide a wheel do you want to use? 295s will probably be best on something like a 10" rim. with out a crazy offset you are going to run into clearance issues i would assume

If you want to start one, I'll gladly argue in it. But I'm not going to have much time or energy to contribute until the Monday or Tuesday after next. On the other hand, at that point I'll have a ton of pictures of totally sweet suspension setups to share.

A) You're either thinking of the EJ, or the FB25
B) The current FB20 for the Impreza, tuned down version, is only at 148hp...you think it has 170tq?

C)

I got that number based off the universal algebraic formula for calculating torque based off HP and RPM. Conversely, you can figure out HP using torque and RPM, and RPM by using HP and Torque. Using an estimated power peak RPM based off the engine characteristics that would match Toyota/Subaru's plan for this engine in N/A trim, I came up with 155tq. That would be 200hp at 6800 RPM. If the peak RPM is higher, torque goes down. If the peak RPM is lower, torque goes up. Honestly though, if they mean to keep this a high-revving peppy type engine, anything lower than ~6500 RPM is highly unlikely, hence the 155tq estimation. @ 6500 RPM it would be ~162ft/lbs of torque.

170 ft-lbs isn't happening in a 2.0 N/A (not at this price point). It could be 155 ft-lbs (or perhaps even as high as 160, though that's unlikely). My prediction is 150 ft-lbs.

This was discussed in a thread in 2009.

The rims will be a 17x10. The offset does not have to be crazy. You can go over to Wheeldude.com and find Rotas in 18x9.5 with a 32-38 offset. Clearance is fine as I will be running a widebody.

i was thinking about clearance the other way. your going to need to reduce offset in order to keep the rims off of suspension components (i dont know how much with a tc). i guess things like scrub radius and bump steer become an issue too.

Scrub radius only changes if he changes his wheel offset. Bump steer only changes if he changes his suspension components or running a suspension ride height wildly deviant from stock.

Naw, I won't. The wheels came off of a tC remember. You are forgetting about BackSpacing. The Backspacing is what you have to worry about when it comes to measurement the opposite direction (into the suspension). The backspacing being to deep will cause the suspension components to get in the way. But like I said, the wheels are coming off another tC so all that's been sorted out. It's about the backspacing on that side of the wheel, not the offset.

These wheels are 18x9.5

These are 18x8.5

Another 18x9.5

Please tell me that grey tc is on bags. If not that is terrible wheel fitment.

Heck if I know. I will assume so though. I just pulled pics off of the site.
