New rims offset question
So I’m looking to grab a set of 17x9 Japan racing jp19’s. Could I run a 215/45/17.
Or go 225? My current rims are 18x9.5 with 235/40/18 and I rub at full lock at the top of the well My suspension setup in the front is Megan street coilovers 8kg Megan inners Gk tech angle kit 25mm adj sway bar Megan adj endlinks So the offset is from 10-25 and I do have a set of 25mm spacers if needed. What offset should I select so I don’t rub at full lock? I’m a bit confused when it comes to offset. Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by B00STED86; 06-06-2024 at 06:21 AM. |

If you want 17x9s, +35 range is ideal. You don't want to go lower that will make your problems worse.
17x8 will give you more room. +35 is decent with no camber, can definitely go lower for flush fit, probably +25 range. |

Thanks for that. But I have another question. Since the rims only go up to +25 if I ordered a +10 and added a 25mm spacer does that essentially give me +35? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's really hard to provide input on a question like this because it's so dependent on so many variables. Ride height, camber, where the camber is achieved, angle kit, spring diameter, tire cross section.
Best thing you could do is put your current wheels at full lock and get in there with a flash light and see where you're rubbing (or close). Then you can conceptualize moving the wheel/tire in or out from there. If you go to a lower offset, look where you might have future issues. More positive offset = closer to the center of the car, less offset or negative offset = further out. In terms of the offset number, think of a spacer as subtraction, not addition. https://www.lesschwab.com/article/wh...el-offset.html Just a guess, but with a +25 offset you'll likely rub the fender liner at a minimum.
