Oil cooled Vs Oil/Water cooled turbos

There's also the option of air-cooled turbos now, no oil or water lines. They just need to be topped off with grease every oil change.

But does that account for how hard the car is driven and when the someone does an oil change?

If ball bearing turbos didn't have supplemental water cooling, they'd fry themselves because they don't have the volume of oil flowing through them to remove the heat that a plain journal has. Journal bearing turbos aren't a bad option, provided there's been a way to remove the heat from the oil that the turbo adds to the system, overall. And they certainly simplify plumbing requirements.

See above. Modern journal bearing turbos are still oil cooled.

Journal can be water cooled as well
