Oh man! I am so sorry!! A shop near me uses them a lot and recommend them. Maybe I will just pass.

Thanks man. The sad part is if you ask them they will insist I’m a liar and a thief. I’ve had other people who are mechanics tell me I was totally in the wrong and that once a shop is working on your car it takes as long as it takes and you need to just wait even if it takes over a year. Let’s just say I disagree.

They have short blocks piled to the ceiling at their shop so they must all not suffer from premature failures but the FA20 is definitely not an EJ; and the 86 is definitely more complex than a sand rail their specialty. Even though the FA20 engine is now 7 years old they still consider it a “new engine” and the learning curve appears to be steep.

I can’t warn everybody about my negative experience but at least I can do my best to warn the 86 community. I wish I would’ve taken pictures of their shop to post how filthy and disorganized it was. I’ve seen pics of some of the other top Subaru shops like Full Blown and IAG, their engine assembly rooms look immaculate.

I didn’t end up taking them to court because it seemed like more trouble than it’s worth. I am confident that karma will catch up with them though. I’ve had multiple people message me who had similar experiences and are seeking legal action.

I can’t for the life of me understand business owners who treat their customers this way. Who knows how many people I would’ve recommended to them if they had done right by me or how many high dollar builds I may have had them do for me in the future. All just to pocket 16K.
