Well, I just took a 6 hour "nap". I laid down at 3 PM and got up at 9:30 PM. I kept looking at the clock thinking it was morning time and 7 was too early to get up. I didn't realize it was still day time till I realized I still had my clothes on, not my PJs.
No, I'm not ill, sick maybe, but not ill. The Doc gave me some "pain" pills for my back pain - he said not to pay any attention to the directions that will come with the pills just follow his. They do not help the pain directly, but they sure do make me drowsy, so I'm not in pain when I'm sleeping. So, that's my excuse, what's yours - Skippy? humfrz |

Golf is a game best experienced drinking, heavily. Otherwise, why the fuck would anybody play that shit?
It gets white men excited to talk to me. It's like owning a pickup truck.

Yeah. You definitely get a pass. I have no excuse other than being a big puѕѕy whenever I get a hint of fever. I haven't slept like that in years.

WTF is wrong with people.
We've had odd electrical issues in the garage since we moved in. I assumed it started with previous owners using the wall as a "you're pulled in all the way" bump-stop (double stud right there, and it was only about 1" overlapping the base plate) right next to where the power conduit comes up, which had completely broken the 90 bend right outside the garage... well, we had an electrician out a couple years ago to fix the conduit issues and replace the power outlet on the rooftop deck (also to run a new circuit for a freezer we installed in the basement). Since then, my wife got a Volt, and it's been having issues this year with "ground fault" randomly on the charger. My circuit tester never finds a fault, but I assume the charger is slightly more sensitive since it'd be a huge fire hazard otherwise. Today I go to try tracking down issues and do some measurements to run a ground wire. This is what I found: 1. hot wire coming into the garage has about four inches of exposed copper where the insulation was scraped off when the wire was pulled. 2. GFCI on the deck was dead already. It wasn't a weather sealed outlet, and the foam seal that's supposed to go between the (waterproof when installed right) cover and the wall hadn't been replaced and wasn't sealed properly. The whole mess was loose, in fact. So. Fixed the studs (sadly, the drywall, which is installed on the outside of the garage, did not follow, so the outside still appears damaged). Wrapped the bare wire (don't have the tools to pull a new wire at the moment, nor the wire) Took the roof outlet completely out of the circuit and capped the wires. I'm really hoping one of the two really stupid installation problems is the source of the occasional bad behavior and I don't have to pull new wire. Now all I have to do today is vacuum. Whee.

I looked it up too. "...developed by teams of advanced engineers,..."
Not one team, but teams. Not regular engineers, only the advanced ones.

You always advance your weakest troops first, right? Isn't it the same with engineers? The good ones get buried early so they... um. survive? hmm. Anyhow. Maybe chess isn't how life works, but as a (software) engineer, I certainly feel like a pawn. I assume that's normal...
