I would love if this car only comes with a manual transmission like the s2k.

^This. But I highly doubt it. They're going to have to bring in more customers than the dying breed that still knows how to drive a manual. It would be nice, however, if there were multiple trims of this car and the highest performance trim level were only offered in manual transmission.

Leather = heavy, maybe a luxery trim should have it.

18 and 19" rims....Id rather have 17"s and maybe 18"s on an upgrade. The bigger the rim the more it weights, and the more it costs to switch to after market. With how small this car is 17s would be perfect with 18"s for the flush look

and 250hp+ turbo....we can only hope ^_^

the Nav might be standard/the screen because of the law that will require rear cameras in all new cars in the US. So expect automakers to start putting screens in as a standard feature already. Since the new ones are HDD based it could make sense to believe they'll start doing OTA updates to the system.

Toyota is Japanese which means it's tech oriented and Toyota's tech is some of the best and most reliable so even if the stuff isnt standard i expect them to offer a lot of it.

if this thing gets the LFA digital tachomoter/odometer w/e the hell it's called....im buying this in a heartbeat

I love the new gauge cluster that Lexus incorporated into their ISF for 2011 (very similar to the LFA, but with less features/menus). Something like this would be cool.

Oh and to 70NYD..Toyota/Lexus has been using Alcantara for 10 years now. The original IS300 had Alcantara. I think Alcantara is used so much in higher end vehicles because it holds up so well.

Hmm.. as great as these options all sound, I hope you all aren't expecting them to come in the car @ roughly $25,000.

I'm not so concerned about price as I am about content. I would gladly pay $32k for a fully loaded version. However, a base model should allow people to get in the door for $25k.

I'd like the option of a 6-speed, but I almost want one with a double clutch. I do as much city driving as highway, and paddle shifters sound kinda fun to use. Notice I said ALMOST. I love my 5-speed G5M-R in the Mazda and sort-of enjoy the 5-speed Getrag F23 in my Saturn, except for its notchiness and space between left-right gears. Very short throws though, especially when paired with a STS.

Here in Europe, manual transmission is standard, I believe it's the same for Japan. Serious sporty cars like the USA only Challenger are now available with manual, so I don't see why not.

Don't get me wrong. I've never owned an automatic and I don't think I ever will. I'm just saying that it would seem unlikely for Toyota to make this car available only with a manual transmission if they want to reach out to the broader market (not just the enthusiasts). Like I said, if they have multiple trims of the FT, then I would hope/expect the higher performance models to be solely manual (similar to Subaru's WRX and STI). By the way, the Challenger is not just offered in manual. The R/T and R/T+ are only available in 6-speed, but there are also 2 lower trim levels that are 5 speed automatic (once again, similar to Subaru's base Imprezas vs WRX/STI). All I'm saying is that I'd be surprised if Toyota pulled a Honda and made the FT-86 manual only like the S2000. Would I complain? Definitely not.

If it's manual only in the U.S., they may as well declare it a failure now. There goes 80% of the potential market. For that reason alone I hope for the option of an automated gearbox.

If they make it a fancy one (like DSG) I may even go for it. Never owned a flappy paddle car and I'm kind of tempted.
