Yet another clutch question?
Sorry you guys I know you would say to search the forums and I did but I could not find a post similar to mine with a solution. First timer actually having a mt car. I have a 2014 brz limited with almost 57k miles. Yesterday the car was driving fine then the car until at like 11pm when I was leaving a place I noticed my 1st was hard to go into like you had to force it.
Here’s the thing, it’s only hard after you come from a stop and release the clutch pedal. When I say hard like you have to force it in and it’s clunky/knotchy. This is also happening to my reverse aswell. Any recommendations on what might be the total cause of it? I’ve heard some people say the clutch is dragging and other say synchros... |

Pop the hood and check your clutch cylinder reservoir. I'll guess that it's bone dry. I'll stop here until you have a chance to reply.

Then, if the clutch cylinder reservoir is below the fill mark, add some fluid.
If that don't "fix" it, I suggest you bleed the clutch system. Come back. humfrz |

The only way they go South like that, is after they suck air, which is when they're bone dry. If it's not dry, then the next culprits are the master cylinder, the TOB, or the fork.

So I checked it, it’s half way full. Drove the car today and the car seemed fine/normal. Don’t know how but I didn’t have to force it into 1st at all the whole day I drove it

Here may be a vital clue: "car was driving fine then the car until at like 11pm when I was leaving a place I noticed my 1st was hard to go into like you had to force it. Bubba suspects alcohol was involved when you left "a place" at 11 PM …. So, here is his recommendation, fill up the reservoir and keep an eye on it. If it goes down, look for a leak, if the clutch acts up again, bleed the system. humfrz |
