Fair enough. Actually, I did move on.

Nevertheless, I am still very interested in this car when and if a factory boosted version becomes available so I check in from time to time to look for updates

Anyway, I only posted anything in this thread because the whole "jealousy" comment was completely ridiculous -- not because of one car being better than the other , but simply because anyone who can afford a Z can afford a FR-S/BRZ if they wanted it. Therefore, what's to be jealous about?

Now as to the "power junkies", all those guys have already sold their Z and bought a V8 Mustang. I have not, nor do I intend to, because raw power isn't everything to me.

What does matter to me? I want my car to have at least 10 hp per lb (ideally to the tire), handle well, brake well, have 2 doors, reasonable reliability, and not be as large as a boat -- the Z does all of that quite capably within my price range, whereas the FR-S clearly misses on one of them.

When and if a FR-S (or other car) does all of that the Z may be replaced.
Got rid of my 370Z because I couldn't do a few practical things such as have the occasional rear seat for people (ladies) when I come back from going out and/or other situations. Also the hatch trunk is nothing to brag about either. But now I have to remedy the situation by getting the power back with turbo probably and the looks back by wheels/coilovers/lip kit.

You went from the Z to a new Camaro -- are you trading that for a FR-S?

Yes. Not a fan of 11.5mpg and 600,000lbs in a car.

they are both great cars, the fact that we bash one another for having either one really sucks, at the end of the day we are all here because we love cars, and that's all there is to it. I don't care if you drive a reliant robin, I'm going to treat you with the same respect as a guy driving a perfect condition mr2 or power hungry gt500 mustang, we all love cars and each car has it's good and bad, some of us may not see it as a bad, I'm sure that a gt500 owner doesn't think their suspension sucks, as we don't think our 200hp is bad either. At the end of the day we all love cars, and if people like us didn't exist neither would these awesome cars. If the 350/370z owners want to talk crap, let them, anyone who knows the least bit about cars knows what both of these cars can do.

That's just my 0.02, take it or leave it, thanks for reading

Nem370z, I hope that price given to you included some lube because the only person with a hurt butt is you obviously. List components that actually matter now and along down the line... RELIABILITY for example. Any wonder as to why the new Zs are selling at or below invoice? Really, I'm totally not going to waste any more time with this adolescent immaturity. Grow up some day!
LOL Reliability shouldn't be an issue for Nissans. You can buy an extended bumper to bumper warranty(Gold Security Plus) dirt cheap 7yrs/100,000miles for $700.That is how much they back up their cars. TBH I think the FR-S may have trouble going head to head with the k20 motors let alone a VQ.

Autocrossed today in Cstock. FRS, BRZ, 2000 MX-5 (Azenis), 350Z (Star Specs).

350Z = 55.00 + 1 cone = 57.00
FRS = 57.4X
BRZ = 57.4X
MX5 = 57.4X

I think the Z w/o the Star Specs would have been right about a low 57. On an autocross course I think we are well matched with the 350. The grunt that it has out of the corners on Star Specs is impressive though. I don't know what size his tires were. I'd also wager that if the FRS or I were on Star Specs we would have been pulling 55.XXs as well.

I'm moving up from ~160hp to 200. On my favourite roads you can't use much more power, anyway-- I'm going from a car with far, far more grip to a car with a little less, and a bit more power. Frankly I expect I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this thing. Fast roads don't do much for me, big sweepers are just a hazard where things can go wrong-- most of my fun happens under 70mph/110kph. Some of it's a little over but it wouldn't be much faster if I had much more power anyway, as it would be more difficult to apply.

Then there's price. Here, my GTS 6MT is going to sting me $39,000 on the road. That's the same for US or Australian dollars, about the same as you'd pay for a GT (same spec) in Japan without sat-nav. If they sold the RC here, that's what I'd buy-- but they don't, so I might as well have the nice stuff if I can't save the money. A 370Z? About seventy thousand dollars-- Why pay more for something I can't use?

People honestly don't seem to be in touch with the sort of fun you can have with a car like this. Sure, an Evo will be faster across the same stretch of road. It'll also take the drive from "fun" to "mental workout". Sure, there's faster cars off the lights-- if I wanted fast I'd buy an XR6 Turbo. But, anyway, if you want fast on the highway or in long, curved stretches, the 370Z will eat an 86 for breakfast. But I think they'll have trouble catching me on my home hill, once I have the hang of the new car.

i disagree, because 99% of the people who want this car cant even get one yet
