Dealershit wants $430 + the cost of oil to do my 12month/20k service.

LOL. Yeah I think I'll keep my money and buy some lowering springs, my own oil, and several cases of beer.

What a joke.

What exactly where they going to do other than change the oil and maybe rotate the tires? That sounds crazy.

Garage
Garbage day here is Wed.
In honor of x-mas and new yr the removal company offset garbage day one day later for both weeks.

Wandering around bumping into walls and doors now.

Guess it's Stormday today. Likely to have the power out for a few hours.

Crazy here!
Well now, the proceeds from the sale of your house would buy you a nice little place in Boise ... like a small ranch ...

Here is the list:
Replace engine oil and filter
Remove, inspect and service front and rear brakes
Service battery
Test coolant, inspect hoses and clamps
Lubricate all latches, hinges and locks
Check under body for damage
Inspect air filter, replace if necessary
Inspect all steering and suspension components
Inspect and adjust all fluid levels
Inspect and adjust drive belt tension
Inspect and adjust rear differential gear oil
Inspect axle boot condition
Inspect cabin air filter, replace if necessary
Inspect clutch operation (if applicable)
Inspect operation of all lights, wipers and washers
Inspect parking brake
Inspect tire condition and adjust tire pressures, including spare tire
Road test
Rotate tires

Already did my cabin filter and intake filter myself. The only thing I wouldn't know how to do is check the drive belt tension and differential oil... and I'm not even sure that's necessary at this point.

The 6 month one was quoted very expensive too, albeit with less "inspections". $130+ cost of oil. Did not partake.

Newsflash: My snow blower started with a bellow of blue smoke.
My driveway is clear, my impaired old neighbour's driveway is clear and all is relatively well in my little corner of the world.
You get 0, 1, 2 set counters using thumbs (and a 3rd, if you different left/right thumbs... but that seems too complicated for people IMO)

1-8 on fingers. Second set adds one thumb. Third set adds the other thumb.

I'm not trying to design a system that lets humans count to the highest possible number using just the digits on their hands; I'm balancing just how stupid a human can be and still use it reasonably consistently.

Plus 8 makes some vague mathematical sense, being 2^3.

not that any of this matters.

Yep.

Going to go a little smaller than a ranch. My only requirements for our retirement house is at least a 3 car garage, RV storage for my boat, and a large heated shop. After that, whatever Mrs. S-ho wants is ok with me.

The brake service is in there and overall it would be worth the cost if you hadn't done the filters already. Though the filter "if necessary" may man it will cost you even more for the part if they actually replace it.
Also depends on if they actually do the whole brake service and don't just slap some lube on the sliders and call it a day.

I don't mind paying for service where actual work is done but that is a shitload of money for "inspecting" stuff.
