Click sound outside car when pushing clutch in in neutral...

Question for the community...when my car was running today in the garage and I could listen, I could hear an audible 'click' or similar noise when pushing the clutch in and out while the car was in neutral and stationary. When the engine was off, no noise, so I'm assuming it's a moving part. Is this normal? I'm a relatively new owner (1 month) so I'm trying to sort out what is normal and not normal/needing attention. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

Throw out bearing? Car has 24k miles, bought it with 23, owned it a little over a month.

Allow me to refer you to our "clutch noise" expert @Ultramaroon.

Does it make the noise when you are pushing the clutch in ...... or letting it out ..... or both.

Does the noise persist when the clutch is pushed in and held in .. ??

Can you hear it while the engine is running and the clutch is NOT pushed in .. ??

Makes the noise both going in and out

Noise does not persist when held in (like I said, sounds like a click or tap)

And it doesn't make the noise when not.pushed in.

It makes the noise in the act of pushing the pedal.

And the noise does not occur when the car is off (not running)

hmmmm.........have you checked to make sure the fluid level is up to full .. ??

It's a long shot, but you may consider changing and bleeding the clutch hydraulic system.

Even if there isn't air in the system ....... at 24,000 miles, it sure wouldn't hurt anything.

Mine has been doing that for 40K miles. It's just another noise these things make.
