On the plus side, the customer notification system has been changed recently to be more pessimistic, so with any luck you will see it a week or two ahead of then!

Man! You ordered almost exactly a month after me (10-22) and got a delivery date of almost exactly a month EARLIER! I was told to expect it the last week of February

My dealer must've had it's fair share of orders before I placed mine or the location is slower to get deliveries. Regardless, I'm mad jealous! Can't wait until we start seeing these cars arrive state side

I got two emails, one from the dealer with a screenshot of what I assume is their ordering system which had a VON and the details of the car. The second was from SoA with the VON, some brand information, and the a delivery estimate.

The salesperson at the dealership told me that if a car matching the equipment that I wanted was already scheduled for production that hadn't been marked as sold, Subaru would just redirect it to them, I'm guessing that's what happened because at the time of order the salesperson said it would be late February or early March

VON or VIN? There is a world of difference between the two. The VON just confirms the order has been received. The VIN means your car is going to be made/pulled to fill the order. A VON really doesn't mean much of anything in the long run.

VON. If it was a VIN I would be way more excited

LOL I think that everybody would be! The first person to get a VIN will be a hero in this forum since it will finally give a firm idea of timelines.

I am afraid to apply for financing as it will be longer than 90 days possibly from pulling credit to receiving car.

I actually just applied for a loan through a local credit union today. I got my VON saying estimated delivery of last week of February. 90 days from now would put me at the end of February and as someone else stated, with the recent change in Subaru estimated delivery, it should come before then.

When I ordered over the weekend the guy told me I should just wait till roughly 30 days before the car arrives because credit and rates are likely to change in that timespan and I guess checking the credit multiple times can be problematic, esp. if right now the credit doesn't even really matter.

But I'll be financing through Subaru anyway. Might be different if you're using a different bank/financing system.

Weird. I haven't gotten anything like that. The guy I dealt with asked for my email address, but it was after he'd placed the order so I assumed it meant he was going to email me personally with updates.

Maybe I should call SoA with my VON and make sure they have my email address?

@Tcoat, think it's worth it for me to do that? It's so early anyway.. so _shrug_.

Racing =/= HPDEs, i.e. track events. I was pretty open with my Subaru dealership about taking the BRZ to the track while I owned it. They had no problem with it. (I know dealerships vary, but driving on a track is not racing, and is not abusing the car).

I would. They may just send the VIN to the dealer and they would contact you but may as well cover all the bases.
