That's the thing. She is a girlfriend. When you get married -- and especially if you have kids -- you have to consider the needs of the whole before deciding to spend money on frivolous playthings. I make about 3x what my wife makes. She does a majority of the child rearing, keeps the house clean, makes most of the meals, runs all the errands, stays on top of all the bills, etc. Yes, I earn the vast majority of what we make, but she carries a lot of the weight even if she isn't physically receiving a paycheck for it.

We own a house together. We'll get married when we feel like the paper is a necessity

That's why we don't have kids, now, or anytime in the future (do our 3 dogs count?). We don't want to give up our frivolous playthings for ourselves; we want to do both, or else we won't bring a child into this world on our free will and choice (if it happens on accident, then that changes things, but not)

Tell your g/f that you want to sell the house, cash out your equity, and travel the country out of a roof top tent. If she starts dialing the realtor or offers to pay out your share of the equity, then I'll agree that you truly are fully autonomous.

My girlfriend and I are the same. We are planning on buying a house together. And we plan to have cats. Lots of cats. And I get to have cars. Hopefully lots of cars XD

This is how I turbocharged my FRS. Lately I've been talking about a Flex Fuel upgrade and some other stuff - I should be good by December. This stuff takes time when you are married LOL!

I still haven't decided which RTT to go with for my 4Runner.

I'm planning on doing a week or more in Colorado next year with some off-roading (Alpine loop).

I voted light mods, as I needed a reliable commuter. I have done a mild exhaust and plan on just "fixing" things to suit my driving... Until the warranty is out, then gloves come off.

100% stock with the exception of next tire replacement.

This may be the last car I own before they take away my keys. Depends on 2 things:
How long I can still enter and exit it
How well the car holds up over time.
I don't want to do anything to impact the long term integrity of the car.

I'm 62 now, I have a pretty good stretch ahead yet, God willing.

Meanwhile, I enjoy exuberant driving!
