What Kind of Enthusiast Are You?

Thought maybe this will be a fun discussion.

So I explained the options a bit more.

Keep Car 100% Stock & Original
Pretty self explanatory.
Light Mods ~ Cosmetic & Performance Mods
This can vary between things like changing a catback, to adding a lip, or rims, springs etc...
Heavy Mods ~ Cosmetic & Performance Mods
This is more serious mods, things like forced inductions, or full out aero kits, track oriented coil-overs etc...
Keep Car 100% Me & Unique!
This is more if you have done things like engine swaps, custom body kits, personalized paint jobs etc...

~

For me, I chose Light Mods ~ Cosmetic & Performance Mods

The goal in this car is to keep it basically look like the original car from the factory, interior and exterior an just improve the performance slightly in a reliable way.

So things like exhaust bolt ons, suspension bolt ons, some minor engine changes like sound tube delete and drop in filtter and light tune.

Cosmetic wise, I'm leaving the interior/exterior basically stock. Just emblem changes to Toyota, and the TRD spoiler. Maybe...just maybe I'll do a tiny lip in the future...but I'm in love with the stock look of the car.

I voted light mods.

When I was younger .... I was into heavy mods.

At this point in my life .... I value reliability over mods.

light/cosmetic mods mainly because i'm leasing my fr-s

so i just modified all the lights to leds, toyota badges, drop in air filter ...nothing that will break the bank and will still make my car look plus feel unique but can be restored to stock fairly quickly in the end

I plan to keep my car looking stock, and improve the functional performance on the car.

Mostly I am going to aim to mod the car for improved grip performance for occasional track day and sunny day drives.

Plus...I love it when people underestimate your car just cause you can't see anything on the outside ~

I voted Light mods.
I actually should fit a "ricer" category since my mods are purely to make the car look and sound better with no real impact on actual performance (and if there is an impact it is secondary to looking good).

Where is the "spend more money than I can count and a still have stock power" enthusiast?

Mattstermh 06-28-2016 12:15 PM

Stock everything except an upgraded sound system cuz it sucks in the FRS

Romanov 06-28-2016 12:20 PM

I'm fairly light mods - mostly cosmetic for now. But i will be switching to more heavy if i keep going how i've been going...

I voted keep car 100% stock and original.

Flame on! Me go watch Barrett Jackson...

Light mods. Drivetrain bushings, springs, and a few LED bulbs here and there.

NickDC88 06-28-2016 12:39 PM

Light mods until warranty expires. Then give me all the boost.

Why would you get flamed? I bet stock and light mods carry this pole by a long shot since it is in the General section where many of the more extreme guys rarely tread.

Now if this question was asked in the FI or suspension subs the results could be dramatically different.

Do people really just stick to specific subforums? I live by the "New Posts" button, which shows everything. I only look into actual subforums if I'm looking for a specific answer to something.
