I understand why they do this, the changes to the car are minimal. But these claims are really too much. Funny by the way, how some reviewers say there is a huge difference compared to earlier models (yeah, your butt dyno can detect a 5hp difference, and you can feel the difference in smoothness/graininess/whatever, all compared to a car that you drove for an hour 2 years earlier in a different place). And other say they can't feel even the slightest difference. I don't think so. The same guy is Javier Mota's video. The same car (or one with a very similar license number) as in this video is in TestDrivenTV's video. Javier Mota and and Redline Reviews both say the test was in Ojai, CA. All four videos were published between 9/23 and 9/29. Meaning the guy was likely running an organized press event for youtube reviewers in Ojai. He should have been prepared better. |

Well that's a whole different story, with the vents and I agree with you.
I'm just trying to explain the details and how he was kinda put on the spot it seems. Quote:
I was totally not wandering around there doing work or anything that day in Ojai too

You're right it is funny! On the review observation, some of the journalist own the FRS( infact the product person owns a 13 FRS iirc). If you like a clear review that is different I suggest watching ones that advertise they own the car like Everyday driver they own a Orange FRS I think they'll test the new car soon maybe I hope so. I can't talk about other outfits, but for Redline we definitely don't get cars for an hour or two. We had a series Blue, and a hyper blue for two weeks, I drove a 14 Monogram before the purchase of my 17 BRZ for about a week, and while the 17 BRZ was being filmed I drove a 15 BRZ around. I even made a small video in the thread 15 vs 17 All the information was given to the editor, before he goes off to talk about it. Also as an owner I can tell you there is a difference between the two.

How would a functional vent help body roll? Maybe he meant it being solid and non functional helped body roll because it's more solid ;-)

Made it out to a Toyota dealership today to give the 2017's a look over. I had to explain to the salesperson all of the differences. He only thought they were rebadged. I have to say, they look pretty nice and if I was on the market for this car right now, would definitely buy a 2017. The front fascia didn't look as awful as it does in the pictures. Still like the BRZ refresh better though. I really like the tail lights - that was the main reason I went to look at it. I wanted to see how they function and what they look like IRL. I'm a fan, and this is finally a tail light I could see myself switching to since I don't really trust Valentis or any of the other options.

I need to learn how to produce video, as I've had mine for about three weeks. I was able to do a 360 degree barrel roll the other day because of the vents.

So is the new intake manifold a direct replacement for the older models or is there more to it?
