TRD brake pads
Was browsing for new pads, and came across this, unusually cheap for a TRD product... anyone have experience with them? What would they be comparable to?

Hawk HPS or similar. Probably a good, aggressive street pad, but not cut out for track usage.
You could always email TRD and see if they have a operating heat range for the pad which would tell you a lot, but for a lot of street-only pads most manufacturers do not keep that information handy. |

From what I've read they are basically sporty street pads. Might hold up ok for an autocross but wouldn't make more than a lap or two at 10/10ths of what a stock 86 is capable of.
I'd assume on par with Stoptech, Project Mu NS400, Winmax W1/2, Carbotech 1521, etc. Edit from TRD's site link: http://www.trdusa.com/parts-detail.h...categories=all "For street and autocross use; not intended for open track sessions" I'd absolutely pick them up for OE replacements for street duty as I think they are actually cheaper than buying OE pads from just about anywhere, but I might be wrong on that though. It might be a mild upgrade that would be pleasing for some owners, I don't have a good frame of reference for that, but I doubt it's worth tossing out the OE pads. |

The blue (JDM) TRD Pads are only marginally better than stock I wouldn't even say fast road. I ran them for about 3 weeks before pulling them and putting in a proper performance pad - they've been sitting in my workshop for about 2 years unused.

I installed TRD pads on just the front of my buddies car. He seems to love them but they do seem to make a lot of dust (talking about North America TRD red ones)
