So today I was by the beach, where there's a lot of gravel and noticed whenever I went over the gravel, I would hear the noise..i even drove through the gravel on each side of the car and sure enough, only noise on that side. My alleyway has a ton of little rocks, and so do a lot of side streets here, so this explains why I hear it when I first start it and get going. It just seems way too loud for me to think its normal, but I guess it is. I'm going to buy some mud guards though

Lol. You guys have no idea how loud it gets..
I have had multiple passengers ask me what that noise was as well...

It literally sounds like it's hailing, I have never been in a car that was that sensitive to gravel, even if there's none noticeable it'll be very loud. I wish I had a hd camera to record the noise. I'm not talking about faint noises. I'm not embarrassed by this thread at all also lol

Well, I don't know what to say .......

BRZ .. ??

Chicago .. ??

Sticky tires .. ??

Sticky gravel .. ??

You may consider driving another BRZ (from a meet or from a dealer) down some gravely roads for a comparison .....

The rattle I believe is coming from the seals of the doors . This sound usually heard when light suspension travel happens. Check both door seals where the frontal smaller window and hinge area meet the car. That's a pretty tight gap between the door and pillar. I used a light silicone based spray for the noise and it seems to help but it's not permanent.

man ive got the same problem on my Passenger side door. it sounds like metal against glass. happens when i go over bumps. and if im playing music it rattles as well. i can recreate it by tapping around the door handle. and opening/closing my door just a tiny little rattle or plastic creaking as someone described it. i thought my speaker was blown at first but i noticed the rattle is less intense with the windows rolled all the way up.
