Scion to be killed off today?

Hold on to your Scion badges, could be worth something one day.

Multiple sources stating that Scion will be axed?

At a top-secret meeting this afternoon, employees were told that the division, which started with the xA and xB in 2002 as 2003 models, wouldn’t see it’s 14thanniversary. Those who were laid off were told they would need to reapply for other jobs at Toyota, which also means moving to Texas. A formal announcement will be made tomorrow morning at 9 am.

After nearly 13 years, Toyota has decided to drop the youth-oriented Scion brand. Despite an attempt last year to rekindle its mojo with two new models, the iA and iM, Scion is closing up shop.

According to a report by CarBuzzard.com journalist BJ Killeen, Scion employees were briefed on Tuesday ahead of an announcement to be made Wednesday.

Not a huge deal for the FR-S community, if you ask me.

We got to leave work early today, good thing because that drive was crazy.

I'm starting to rethink using the BRZ as a winter car.

I didn't get a photo but the snow was above the bumper and doors. I forgot to put a shovel in the trunk this year and using a snow brush to clear a way out of the parking spot wasn't fun.

Who am I kidding, I was still able to keep up with most SUV's... just side ways.

I was just about to post about the driving today.

I needed a little push because I had to turn onto a side street coming home at low speed so I wasn't carrying enough momentum to get through the snow but other than that I was OK. Given that I only saw one plow all day, I don't know what it would have been like if I had stayed at the office.

I did see a black FRS on Carling as I was heading back from lunch though.

I know this is a chat thread and not a for sale or want to buy thread but I'm looking to get a Tomei UEL header from a Canadian shop to support them and see if it'll save me money compared to ordering it directly for the states. Any tips on how I should go about it and then anyone interested in my Skunk2 EL header locally?
Thanks!

Most likely you'll save on custom fees and conversion if you buy it here. That being said if you just ship to Ogdensburg and pick it up yourself, then it may be cheaper to buy from the States (providing you find a really good deal). Check out Slickautosolutions.com or ft86motorsports.com to buy parts in Canada (happen to be local as well xD)

With the exchange rate the way it is now, it might be better to just buy local, unless you are saving the shipping costs on a big item
