Interesting take on the 2ZZ. If I ever acquire an XRS it will be just for daily use. Even if the fun factor is small, it's still better than driving any other Corolla. I love the idea of a small sleeper and the XRS fits that perfectly. I'd even take a Corolla XRS over a Celica GTS for that reason and because I am not much of a fan of the Celica's looks.

I'm personally not a fan of the 2AZ motor, but I heard that they are stout motors for what they are.

Yeah, I'd stick with the Corolla XRS over the Matrix. There's too much of a weight penalty for the 5 door.

Definitely something to consider, but weight isn't an issue for me since it would be a daily with minor mods. If anything, I'd choose the Corolla over the Matrix or Vibe based on looks alone.

Just don't understand some people and their logic on exhaust. Whats the loudest? Why is that even a question, and why would you want that?

The ones I love are the "I want the loudest exhaust out there but want to pass emissions tests" or "I want it really really loud but no drone when on the highway" or "damn cop profiled me just because I am young. He had no right to check my totally catless straight pipe exhaust" or "my neighbour called the cops because my exhaust is too loud what a ****".

I respect everyones individual tastes but having a vehicle thats really just an annoyance is a waste of money. I swapped my exhaust on my Harley and even then got baffles that shit was way too loud.

My car has 14k on the clock but I feel like it can blow any second. My friend said that the block is gonna blow because it's a Subaru, but the head should be fine. Whatever, I'll get a GTX block imported from Dubai and it'll last forever. #hatersgonnahate #2jz #dapper #boostgetsyoulaid

my buddy's father's coworker's friend's uncle's proctologist has a WrX that has 900hp and he said that i can get 300 in the brz just by regaping the plugs i am going to do that but wonder if i will need to do anything else
