So, is the consensus still that this hasn't been fixed for sure? I've got the same issue where it squeaks when the clutch pedal is depressed. It also honks from time to time. I thought initially because of the warm weather but it's been getting cold here in the mornings and it still doing it.

I did the clean & lube thing almost 2 months ago (see post @ foot of p13) and it's still fine, cold or hot doesn't matter. Time will tell.

I want to give the grease a try but not sure where in this thread the directions are?

I need to know the following things:

- where/what exactly needs the greasing (clutch fork?)
- location (pics?) of the parts needing to be greased
- what all I'll need (jacks, tools?)

If there is a DIY for this or someone posted instructions, please share the link. THanks.

Just got off the phone with the dealership, and they will be replacing the clutch, fly wheel, pressure plate, the clutch fork, and the throwout bearing. The service guy told me that Subaru knows about this, so if you have the same problem and are still under the powertrain warranty, don't hesitate to take it to your dealer.

^^ If you can get something written that confirms this it would surely help.

Even with a bad bearing, the car should run for quite a while, but it's better to get it replaced sooner, rather than later. The bearing is cheap, but the labor is $$$.
I thought that the bearing isn't moving unless the clutch pedal is depressed? How can it make noise if you're not on the clutch? Something (throwout bearing?) is making a noise only when my pedal is depressed. A year ago it started with the squeaking at the bottom of the clutch pedal's travel.

Add myself and a friend to the list. Can we get a list going? Once we hit 200 I'm sure a well worded letter to Toyota/Scion/Subaru executives (CEO and what not) will help with dealer denying it's a defect. They made my friend pay $500 or told him to come tow his car to another autoshop, lol. They blamed it on his aggressive driving and pointed to the "hot spots" on his clutch.

I'm taking mine in in Dec. Pray for me.

Been experiencing an issue where with the clutch depressed upon start up it makes a clunk. Then when sitting at idle, pressing the clutch makes the same sort of clunk noise. Anyone have any idea?

Has anyone tried using Lithium grease on the clutch rod that is above the gas pedal that goes into the firewall. I can't remember if this had some grease on it when I purchased the car.
