To my knowledge the 260Z was exactly the same as the 240Z except they bored out the engine for an extra 0.2L to compensate for the power robbing emissions equipment installed at the time, it was basically a single model year car in 1974 before Nissan added another 0.2L for the 280Z in '75, again largely unchanged from the Fairlady that debuted in '69.

The 'original' 300ZX debuted in 1984 (replacing the 280ZX that replaced the 280Z), but like a previous discussion gets forgotten due to the dated visual design.

<----- ex 94 300zxTT owner. Definately a love hate relationship. I bought mine pre-modded and tuned. Made 358whp and damn was that thing a blast to drive.

Same here had mine running right over 400whp and loved driving it, working on it not so much.
