So anyways, they kind of stopped moving so i had a chance to merge into the lane and i opened my window and showed the girl that she shouldn't text by just kind of pretending to text with my hand.

I guess this was my mistake because this was one crazy girl. She pointed the middle finger at me which was fine....i understand...you are not happy because i caught you texting, but the next thing kind of got me almost calling the police. She literally almost hit my car by accelarting so aggressively that he tires squeaked and then slamming the breaks. (keep in mind she is behind me...literally crazy)

Then she honked, and did this again.

Anyways was amusing but also scary, when she was beginning to pass me i was careful for her to not cut me off....luckily there was a cop in the shoulder lane.

This girl was in a SUV, she was in a GMC one with the license plate Nixxy.

Anyways, what annoys me is, the driver is at fault, but they take out that on me.....like no respect for the law. She was already at fault for not letting a car merge, and then texting.

Anyways, moral of the story is probably to just ignore these idiots.
You do realize you can report her to the cops right? Especially since you have her liscence plate.

I'd do it.

One got in my face (older man and I am a girl so it was scary), the other ended up trying to smash out my window with his fist (even scarier).

Moral of the story... don't stop and get out of the car, no matter how pissed you are lol

I throw a middle finger around from time to time too, mostly for people who go below the limit in the left lane. Good ol' road rage
Did you file any charges against the person who tried to smash your window? I hope everything is ok.

No, everything was such a blurr. I just jumped back into the drivers seat and took off.

Do it. $490 fine and a stern talking to.
I did this to a psycho in Scarborough once (my wife was in the car with me and some crazy Camry came out of nowhere and started tailgating my Yaris, passed me, and then tried to brake check me a few times).

The cops do actually find them if you have enough information.

There's no fine if you report a traffic offence to the police.

They don't visit either. They send a letter.

Source: I've received one. Long story, wasn't actually my fault. Back in 2009 or something I was brake checked so hard while driving home from college, I swerved off the road and got lumped in by someone behind me for being part of a road rage incident.

Hmm. Different outcomes.
I actually received a call from the police asking if I wanted to lay charges on the guy.

I guess it depends on the severity of the situation, because the guy who raged at me and my wife made threatening gestures when we were at a stop light too.
I had his license plate, car details and direction of travel all provided to the cop.

Since they implemented fines for texting, people just hold their phones as low as possible trying to hide it. Honestly, I think that just makes it even more dangerous. People have to turn their eyes down 90 degrees to look at their phones. When it wasn't an offence, people just held their phones up at eye level.

When I drive now I try to keep my phone in my briefcase so that I can't text. The only time it's not in my briefcase is when I'm listening to music, and I have it out so that I can have it plugged in. The struggle to not check my messages when I hear them is real. They should just make it outright illegal.

You can have your phone speak your texts out loud with a bit of work. A lot safer and easier for me

My favourite solution is to not be an idiot and text in traffic. It can be done safely, regardless of what high horse riders on here say. Peripherals are your friends.

First time seeing this but an OPP car was pulling up next to cars on the 401 and checking the driver as he did to me, probably looking to see if I was distracted or something. Clearly I wasn't, he slowed down and checked somebody else behind me sped up to check somebody else, and this kept on going for a while until I exited the 401.
