Last year of HS, I lurk to research the car, maybe two years after graduation so I don't get myself into a hole in which I'm balls deep into paying off a car.

So young and yet so wise. Keep the practical ride through college.

You ARE planning on college, right?

Of course I'm planning on college!
Applications are mostly done just working on essays and such.

However, as of right now, I drive a sky, which I wouldn't call practical unless practical means not having to drive anyone around, but reliable yes. Which is technically my dad's car, I'm just maintaining it and keeping it clean as a loaner per say.

Oh my.
Skys are awesome.

Especially with an ls7 swap.

If I were you I'd go with the swap instead of an 86. Together with upgrades to suspension it will run you half the price and will be 2x the fun. Thus, a 4x improvement over the twin.

Haha yeah, I've been throwing the idea around.
Salvage camaro ss is usually 12k, if I buy a complete wiring harness for LSx for my car, $1,700 not sure if it uses oem 2.4 ecu or ecu off of camaro. It'd be close to the cost of a used frs though. Issue is we don't have a garage, dad is a mechanic but bays are limited, unless we can swap it in 2 days lol. We swapped the boat also, that took two months in itself. So I figure for my car it'd be two months if we dedicate ourselves.

Google solstice ls7 swaps.
It's same platform as sky and last I looked they had kits for that kind of thing.
That should cut down all of the time by 2/3

Frs is fun, but it needs more power. Regardless of what the fanboys will tell you. This way you get the power and you still have a rwd that handles pretty well.

I know ddm works and perfauto weeks has kits. But those are some costly options lol. For now I've just been lurking on solstice, and sky forum.

This chassis just has some quirks though. The trunk is one major one that I'm not too fond of, or the way the top works, or the hood.
