KW V3: 16 clicks for compression?

Hopefully this is not a stupid question but I recently picked up a set of KW V3 for my car. I read through the manual to figure out what the recommended rebound and compression settings should be. The manual mentioned that there were 12 clicks for compression (bottom adjuster). However, when I attempted to count for myself, I noted a total of 16 clicks for compression. Are the last four "soft" clicks useless? Am I going crazy?

Thanks in advance for the help guys!

Garage
Are you counting from bottomed out, or from fully loose?

You should turn the dial clockwise to full stiff. Then counterclockwise to your setting. Turning it past 12 clicks counterclockwise may damage the shock.

I counted 16 clicks both from full soft and from full stiff which led me to believe that there was supposed to be 16 clicks. I also actually heard the "click" noise after each turn on the knob as well which did not help. I guess those last 4 clicks from full stiff are redundant? Hopefully I didn't damage anything... I didn't leave the the settings within the last 4 clicks -

You probably didn't damage anything. The click you hear is just from a spring loaded ball bearing in the adjustment knob. You could continue rotating and will hear clicks. Reason I know is one of my adjustment knobs fell off so I took the other one off and discovered the ball.
