You mean the brz ts?
Cool. We already know. I don't understand how the fuck people are still finding these poorly constructed articles and believing what they're reading.

Nah, OP had a pretty good track record until this one minor indiscretion and I highly doubt he will make that error again!
Overall he should get props for dealing with the angry mob as well as he did. Everybody put away your torch and pitchfork there will be no lynching here today.

Like Tcoat said, we don't need to.
But if you like to lynch Tcoat, you're more than welcome to... in the off-topic section in the Random Thread ![]() Anyways, back on-topic, idk much bout BRZ STI coming soon... but if there's enough demand & request, I could see BRZ STI happening... in 3~5yrs |

I made a mistake of waiting for a TRD/STi version and not even giving the "standard" version a try, thinking it should happen during 2nd or 3rd model year. The conclusion I've reached is "no f'ing way in hell" and I finally gave the twins a try, ended up buying one a week later. Now I'm sad that I missed out for 3 years believing those pathetic rumors.
Unless Toyobaru confirms it themselves, I just don't believe it at all. Also, one of the articles says "However, Subaru of America corporate communications director Michael McHale cautioned the car could be a more restrained "tuned by TSI" variant instead of a full-on STI model." I don't know WTF TSI is, but if they mean tuned by STi, there is BRZ tS already in Japan. They are also saying it's at least a couple of years away. Uhhh... no thanks. |

Couple years away is key.
Buy a twin and pay it off. If you liked owning a twin, buy the tS or STi (if there is such a thing) when they come out.

Miata, s2000, fairlady, for all of these import cars in the history, manufacture would not release a "day and night difference" version only 3 years after the first generation. That's how they run the business. It's about R&D cost, or about not making people who already owned the car sad.
For these cars, the 2nd generation were only a little bit better than the 1st with some modifications (sometime people even like 1st generation better because its more "original", for example AP1 and AP2), and people who own the 1st generation can always modify not too much (for example change a header & tune) to get the same power gain. For the twins, I dont think a 2.5L engine or a turbo version will be released soon. Even if there is a 2nd generation, it will not be a day and night difference. .

Well said these cars are like 7 to 10 years per generation, meaning they poured a lot of R&D money and efforts into it. When the next generation comes (if that even happens), the changes would be evolutionary not revolutionary.
The manufacturer will not turn the twins into something that it's not, the formula is set. For the people that are constantly asking for more power and a turbo, they don't understand this car or the current economic condition at all whether they already own one or not. I think Bob Hall (and to a certain extent Tom Matano) explains it the best when it comes to the Miata / LWS program. |
