Heh, doesn't seem to matter what the speed limit is on major roads, I tend to roll around 70 (if the road supports it) and the vehicle I'm in can handle it safely. There are some places where the limits are lower and I'm more conservative but most modern roads are designed for higher speeds than what the posted limit is. This tends to leave me "parked" in the left lane because I am actually passing most of the other vehicles on the road. If somebody comes up on me chances are I see them with more than enough time to get out of their way before I cause them to alter their speed. Think of it this way, if you are being passed on the right you are probably in the wrong lane.

Here's a little local humor: Why did Austin add area code 737 to 512? So we can tell who the Californians are.

Another local favorite, a bumper sticker that says, "Welcome to Austin. Please don't move here."

Hey, at least you set the record this year. You can tell you grandkids about "the winter of 2015" one day.

The Winter of 1976 was far worse and 2011.

The beaches are much better in the first two, but the margaritas are much better in the third.

It's simple. At a four-way stop, the first person to arrive goes first, unless two people arrive at the same time, in which case the person on the right goes first, unless three cars show up simultaneously, in which case the person furthest to the right in a counterclockwise direction goes first, then the next furthest person and finally the person furthest to the left in a clockwise direction. Unless of course four vehicles show up simultaneously, in which case you're screwed.

That's 146 mph I believe. Seems to be the correct top speed for the FR-S.

Aha, so you're actually supposed to stop at the stop signs? This explains some of the honking horns, waving fists and other rather odd greetings I've encountered.

Most of my recent driving experience in the US was in California and Nevada. And as I've said before, I read the rules before I went.
And I quickly figured out that you're expected to follow the rules in some situations, but not in others. I just never learned to tell them apart...
