Help! Just installed OFT stage 1 and got CEL

Hey guys,

I loaded the tune successfully and took the car for a drive after letting it idle for a minute. According to the info page, I have B01C.bin, SW Verision 0132, and calibration code ZA1JB01C. This should be the stage 1 tune for a stock car on 91. Not sure if this is 2.0 or an older version of the tune.

The drive was fine, I was watching the real time data and STFT were hovering around 1-3% and LTFT mostly 0%. Which looked pretty good, also the car DEFINITELY feels torquier and the dip feels less. But my connection to my OFT came loose a couple times while watching real time data, and on the 2nd or 3rd time a CEL light came on. I stopped the car and turned it off and on again and the light was still there. Then I checked the Fault codes and it said no fault codes. Not sure what to do next! Any tips or advice? Would greatly appreciate any help!

Thanks!

What you experienced are CAN communication faults caused by the connector coming loose while viewing realtime data. Nothing to worry about. Although you should be able to read and clear the code. I'm a bit stumped.

Thanks Shiv. I'll keep an eye out and see if it goes away in a couple days. Also, any tips as to what I should be looking at for verifying the tune isn't causing any issues? I was looking at Fuel Trims, but my OFT doesn't show knock count like I've seen in some other pictures

Feel free to take a datalog of a 3rd gear WOT pull (2000-7500rpm) and post it up on datazap.me. I'll be happy to take a peek at it.

@momo3605 I had the same thing happen. The OFT wouldn't read/clear mine either..I've heard it only clears "engine related codes". If you don't have any other OBD scan tools you can just disconnect your battery and reset the ECU, that should clear it.

Hey Shiv,

First time taking a data log, but I just realized I don't have rpm on this graph. You can sort by throttle to see where I did my 3rd gear run. Also, from my very minimal understanding I see the LTFT is around 1-2% most of the time and up to 3% on the freeway. Also AFR is almost always .2-.3 below command AFR. Is that normal? Anyway, would greatly appreciate any input from you!

Thanks!
