The 2015 Mustang configurator is up on the Ford website if anyone wants to build one up.

Apparently according to the dealer order guide, it's "only" 86 lbs heavier. Which I suppose is not terrible considering the change to IRS. (but still probably not something I would want to own)

Still upsetting. I'm gonna laugh my ass off when the 2016 Camaro looses a bunch of weight...

not sure the Camaro will lose a ton of weight, but I think it'll be around the 3700 neighborhood with the mustang. Ford doesn't have the problem that gm has, which is the corvette. There's no way in hell that they'll make a 3400-3500 SS Camaro. They would be making a car that puts up vette numbers at a fraction of the price.

People who think the Camaro will lose a lot of weight are just as gullible as those who thought the Mustang would lose a lot of weight.

Isn't the Camaro going to be built off the ATS platform? If the ATS only weighs 3,300lbs, would the Camaro really be a lot heavier?

That's the 4 pot. The 3.6 ATS is around 3600. The Camaro will have a heavier v8 and other heavier components to accommodate the extra power.

the RWD 3.6 is 3461 lbs.

Depending on the trim, It wouldn't be hard to believe a camaro would be <3400 lbs.

Afterall the ATS is a cadillac, thus extra weight due to sound insulation and all the other luxuries.

On the left is a DOHC 4.6L V8, and on the left is an OHV 5.0L V8

I don't know how it compares to the other engines but an LS1 is ~400 lbs.

2015 Mustang First Reviews

So why isn't the new ponycar faster than the old one, or handle as well given its horsepower and torque bump and new suspension? One word: weight. The new Mustang GT weighs in at 3814 pounds, a 196-pound increase over the last similarly equipped Mustang GT we tested
Seems like they blew it. Originally, everyone was expecting a lighter, better handling Mustang and it didn't happen. I'm sure it's still a blast to drive but I was expecting more.
